Dustopper's High Flow 90° sweep action elbows are designed to improve air flow (CFM) of your vacuum and Dustopper or other dust collector with a 2-1/2 in. port. The elbows minimize flow restriction with any dust collection system that involves 90° turns. Dustopper set ups that use 1 or more elbows will have fast flow for better separation and performance.

The ID of the female end measures 2-1/4" and is compatible with the current industry standard for vacuums advertised has having a 2-1/2" hose system. (nominal dimension). The OD of the male end is also 2-1/4". This type of elbow is called a "street", meaning it has one female end and one male end.

The simple answer is "Yes". The top port of the orange Dustopper, first introduced in 2017, was tapered to make it adaptable to a broader range of vacuums. The fitment of the new sweep elbow to the top fitting is the same as it was with the original orange Dustopper. Some users have added clamps to ensure that it doesn't come loose. Yes. Our Dustopper High Flow 90-degree sweep elbows are designed and manufactured by us to work with the older version of the Dustopper (orange dome) and the new Dustopper PRO (clear dome). If you have additional questions, please reach out to us at info@dustopper.com. Thank you.
Thanks for your question. Many products today will use of nominal dimensions rather than actual dimensions. The best example is a 2X4 stud, which actually measures 1-1/2" X 3-1/2". For decades, everyone has called them 2X4s, and we all know that is not their actual dimensions. Where it gets tricky with pipes, tubes, and hoses, is the accepted practice of using the outside dimension in lieu of the inside dimension. In the world of wet/dry vacuums, for example, nearly everyone (if not everyone!) refers to a standard hose connection as a 2-1/2' hose port, when in fact it actually measures 2-1/4". Hope that helps!
I don't know, but whoever posted the other answer apparently didn't read the question. The question was about THE LARGE-RADIUS 90* ELBOWS, not some 3-foot extension tube.
Thanks for your note. Dustopper was initially designed to accommodate a variety of Dustopper-to-vacuum setups with most domestic vacuums. Therefore, the 36” connector hose for the Dustopper should fit exactly as designed when plugged into a typical RIDGID vacuum having a 2-1/4” ID receiver port. Both ends of the 36” hose that come with a Dustopper measure 2-1/4” OD, so the connection between the host RIDGID vac and the Dustopper hose is a standard male/female connection. The free end of the Dustopper will fit the top hose port on the Dustopper, where it is used as a female receiver port, and the tapered hose connection on the top of the Dustopper is used as a male connection. We apologize for the confusion. The longer hose that came with the vacuum also has two male style hose cuffs (if it is one of the popular domestic brands, i.e. RIDGID). One end of the host vacuum’s hose should fit nicely into the 2-1/4” side receiver on the Dustopper, which is labeled “Pick-up Hose”. The other end should also accept all of the accessories that came with the domestic hosts vacuum. Some international brands do not follow the standard 2-1/4” standard for ID and OD, so the user may have to some additional research on the various options sold at Home Depot and elsewhere. We sincerely hope this helps. If you have additional questions, please email us at info@dustopper.com.
You are correct. This is a 2-pack of Dustopper High Flow 90-degree sweep elbows to mirror what is included in our HD12A Dustopper. I have requested the description to be updated to indicate the package includes 2 elbows and eliminate the confusion.
