About This Product

Wood screws are designed with aggressive threads to securely grip wood. Commonly used to join two pieces of wood tightly together or to attach hinges, locks, or other hardware to wood. Using a pilot hole slightly smaller than the wood screw diameter is suggested to prevent splitting.

Q:Can there screws be used in drywall with anchors? How much weight do the hold?

Answer This Question

A:  I don’t think it’s going to work, because it’s not threaded all the way to the head. Usually it’s the phillips pan head screws that are used.

        Screws break
I bought these to attach some coffee table legs. Proper pilot holes drilled and couldn’t get the heads to stop breaking off. Even with hand tightening. The table was oak, so I kept the screws for when I was using a soft wood. Heads still broke with pine. These will likely work for small hobby projects using balsa or really soft pine, but not much else. Mine are headed towards the garbage.

          Poor quality on the screws.
Phillips head easy to cam out with minimal torque. In one instance screw snapped leaving head in wood rail. Penetration was less than 1/4” in countersunk plywood. See attached picture.

              Poor Quality
Wish I read these reviews first. The heads strip even with the proper pilot hole and low torque. Just junk. Absolutely not made for wood. Mdf maybe but not hard wood Hoping I can remove the broken piece or my project is ruined.

                Striped and Broken Screws
Tried to use these multiple times, had a stripped screw every time. Absolute garbage screws. Had multiple snap on me today.

Terrible screws that easily break in wood cabinets
I can’t believe what bad quality these screws are and how much time it’s costing me to try and extract the broken screws. They say they are suitable for wood, but using a hand screw driver the screw quickly snapped in a wood cabinet. I should have known better not to use these, but trying again the same thing happened! I now have to find a way to get these broken screws out. See photos. What a huge headache. Zero stars

low quality - metal too soft for screwdriver
Low quality. Over half of screws deformed where contacted by screwdriver. All use was into studs pre-drilled with pilot holes before putting these in.

I used these screws to build a charging station for my drills and other power tools using a design found on the Home Depot projects page. It hasn't fallen apart yet, so they seem to be doing their job.
