A supported plant is a healthy plant. By lifting branches and leaves off the ground, the Gardener's Blue Ribbon 54 in. Heavy-Duty Green Tomato Cage can help protect plants from harmful diseases, while helping the plant to grow straighter and taller. Each plant cage is made from stronger, more durable green powder coated steel to help support even the biggest of Beefstake, Oxhart and Big Boy tomatoes. The open cage design has both horizontal and vertical metal beams to support growing plants. The cage features 4 legs that are made from thick 7-Gauge metal and 4 rings from 8-Gauge metal. The wide open grid work of the cage makes harvesting easier. Installation is simple - press the grow cage into moist loose soil at the same time you plant your starter plant. The powder coating helps prevent rust and weathering, so that the cages can be used for a second season. The cages stack together for easy storage. Give your tomatoes and other vining plants the support they need to grow with the Gardener's Blue 54 in. Heavy-Duty Green Tomato Cage.

The largest ring is 16.14 inches in diameter.
The diameter is 16 at the largest ring. Measure your pot to determine size needed.
18 inches
I am using them in large half barrels...approx 24" size. The smallest ring is approx 12". I don't mean to be uncooperative, but Home Depot needs to carry their own measurements. Unless they start paying me for Customer Service, that's their job. Sorry.
The bottom ring is 12" in diameter.
They have a good coat of paint . I can't see the galvanize.
The tomato cage I bought was coated. Last year I used a galvanized tomato cage and it worked fine.
Use a wood stake Paranoid. I believe that would be illegal.
Yes, according to the manufacturer "Due to the galvanization process, the cage does contain trace amounts of lead. Thus we are required to mark the item with the California Prop 65 warnings."
Don’t worry about it. If there is it won’t kill you.
Sorry, not sure. Most galvanize now id lead free.
No.
Don't think so.
I’m not sure if galvanized, but is very well painted, no rust so far.
Doubt it. Mine rusted.
I don't believe so, but not positive. I did note very small rust spots on a couple of the weld points.
54", but beware. I only got 4 in my box and the one they provided to make up for it came with rust and dents. I'd stay away.
Definitely 54". These are huge and sturdy.
This is a 54" tomato cage. We will get the description fixed as soon as possible. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Jennifer Customer Care

China, where else?
These are manufactured in China. Thank You, Jennifer Customer Care
The cage seems durable! I don’t know the exact gauge. Of course, you want to install the cage within a day or two of planting the tomato plant - before the plant has time to grow!
It is an 8 gauge wire
Honestly I couldn’t tell u off the top of my head, but it looks like 14 gauge or around there.
The wire is thicker than many I've seen, but I don't know the gauge.
I am sorry, but I don't know. It is very thin though. My husband linked them together with plastic bars to give them more stability.
My guess is 8 gauge.
Legs 7 ga., rings 8 ga, according to the website. Sturdy yet easy to bend to fit container or avoid roots and other obstructions. Paint has lasted 2 seasons and looks like new.
Legs: 7-Gauge wire, rings: 8-Gauge wire
It’s very heavy and tall my tomato plants will grow into them
Unknown about the gauge. I bought them because they are thicker than most I've ever seen. I still have the one from last season. I washed it off and using it with another I just bought. The green coating is still intact. Looks new.
