I'm intending to install 36" wall cabinets with a 20" space between the bottom of the cabinets and the countertop. This puts me at an overall height of 92" from floor to the top of the cabinets. Could a 96" panel easily be cut down to 92"?

Hi zfamkitchenremodel, thank you for your question. Yes, a 96" panel can be easily cut down to 92" to fit your desired height. This allows for a clean and customized look for your kitchen. However, please note that modifying the panel may affect the warranty. Hope my answer was helpful to you, and I really appreciate you considering Hampton Bay. Best Regards.

Is this a flat panel with trim attached to 1,2,3, or 4 sides which gives it a 1.5in thickness? Can a base cab be attached to this panel /will there be a gap because of the moulding around it? Can it be cut into two pieces to use as end panel on wall cab

          Answer This Question

A:Hi AvondaleHomeDepot, thank you for reaching out. The Avondale 24 in. W x 96 in. H Refrigerator End Panel in Ink Blue features a core thickness of 0.47 inches and has a 1.5-inch framed edge attached along one side. This panel is designed to finish the side of a refrigerator and support wall cabinets. However, it is not suitable for attaching base cabinets, as this may lead to gaps from the molding. While the panel can be cut to fit, doing so could compromise its structural integrity. For wall cabinet ends, decorative end panels are a better option. To ensure durability and achieve a seamless appearance, it's advisable to use components as intended. Hope this helps! We truly appreciate you considering Hampton Bay.

Is this end panel able to be used on either side? Left or right? Meaning, is it finished on both sides?

If I am installing the Hampton Bay Avondale 30 base cabinet on the end of an island do I also need to use Base cabinet flush end panel? If the cabinets are finished on the sides I'm not sure what the purpose is of the end panel? Please explain :)

              Answer This Question

Hi CCCC, Thank you for reaching out to us. When installing the Hampton Bay Avondale 30-inch Base Cabinet at the end of an island, it is advisable to use a Base Cabinet Flush End Panel, even if the cabinet sides are finished. Here are a few reasons for this recommendation: Firstly, while the cabinet sides may be finished, they might not perfectly match the rest of your kitchen or island design in terms of texture, sheen, or finish consistency. The flush end panel creates a uniform and polished look, ensuring that the exposed end of the island matches the rest of the cabinetry. Additionally, when installing cabinets, there can be small gaps or visible seams where two cabinets meet, especially if they are slightly different in size or alignment. A flush end panel helps conceal any imperfections and provides a clean, built-in appearance. I hope you find this information helpful. Thank you! - Sam -

                Add a bit of richness!
The trend is to create a calm, not distracting kitchen. Many individuals choose white cabinets. While they are crisp and clean, this Avondale Refrigerator End Panel in Ink Blue will add just a bit of interest in your kitchen. This panel came securely packaged, everything was fine – no cracks or splinters. I put this panel in my white kitchen, my friend put this panel in her very blue kitchen. How you use it is up to you. Whatever you choose, this panel will bring a bit of richness to your kitchen.

                Looks great
This shaker style end panel is well made and looks great. It is constructed of super sturdy, high grade plywood. It was very simple to get it installed on the end of the exposed cabinet. The panels can be ordered in a variety of colors and sizes. This color is the perfect creamy shade of antique white. The finish is super smooth and free of imperfections. It is very durable and scrubbable. Great addition to my kitchen.

Decent quality plywood panel. Great to match to existing Avondale cabinets, otherwise better options exist
I received this end panel via freight shipping and was disappointed to see that the box still took a beating. upon opening it I was relieved to see that there was ample protection to the plywood panel to ensure the panel survived unscathed. The panel is made in Vietnam with a decent quality 7 ply plywood, though some voids and irregularities are present. This being a 1/2" sheet, I was not surprised to see a decent amount of cupping and warpage down the length of the panel. Depending on how you intend to mount this, you could likely true the panel and secure it to make it straight. The inside panel comes prefinished with a nice matte UV cure finish while the outside panel is finished in a matte paint. The color finish is not the greatest - it has a slightly textured surface which makes it feel a bit cheap. The finish also is prone to scratching and paint chips on corners so be extra careful when handling. I respect what this panel is though, it is not intended to go with ultra high end custom made cabinets. This panel is intended for medium grade RTA cabinets and comes prefinished to match that line of cabinets. With that price point and quality level in mind, the panel is great and does the job. Most homeowners wouldn't be able to notice any of the minor issues I have with the panel, but a contractor or woodworker would see them immediately. One area that under performed was the visible L brackets used to secure the face frame to the cabinet however. This can be hidden on the inside of the panel and likely not an issue for most, but it is only secured on one side and no glue or other means of attachment are used.

                Beautiful
I absolutely love this product. It really has elevated the look of the space. One end is open for easy cutting to fit. The panel is smooth and painted really well. I did not have to adjust the height as it fits perfectly with a standard cabinet height. I will definitely recommended this brand and will buy end panels for all of my cabinets. The color is beautiful and very much like the picture.

The Hampton Bay Avondale series of cabinets is by far the nicest budget friendly cabinets on the market. Real wood cabinets (instead of pressboard) with a painted finish is normally unheard of in this price range. All the necessary trim pieces and accessories are readily available. They are solid sturdy cabinets that will last. The fact that you put them together yourself is an added plus. Transportation is easier. It also gives you the control to ensure they are put together properly vs. some guy in a factory bored to death with a nail gun. It allows you to also use wood glue, liquid nail, and/or your own nail gun for added strength and durability but is totally optional as these are super sturdy when assembled without any of the above additions. The directions are clear and precise. The packaging is exceptional almost eliminating shipping damage. Delivery is quick and easy. Without these cabinets, I would have had to give up my dream kitchen. I could never have afforded to pay custom cabinet prices but that is exactly what these are like but with better affordability. The pre-assembled cabinets they sell in the big box stores these days are garbage. Tried that route. Some of them fell apart before I could even wrestle them in the door and were made of flimsy subpar materials with shoddy craftsmanship and quality quality controls. These cabinets are amazing. I’m on cabinet #12 and have not had a single problem or disappointment yet. I’ve got 16 more to go (can’t afford but one a week) so please don’t discontinue them.

                  Wrong size
The sizing is off by an inch. Not sure what exactly they were thinking with that ? Why advertise it as the wrong size ..

Looks nice but incorrect size shown
This end panel is high quality and looks great, but the sizing is incorrect. The 24" x 30" panel is actually 23" x 29.5". This means the panel does not fill the entire side of the base cabinet. I'm not sure what the thought process was there. Still looks nice even with a gap though.

Warning: the 24 x 34.5 panel is actually ONLY 23.25 wide. I wish I'd noticed the other reviews about this before I ordered it.
