Tobias 3-Light Matte Black and Gold Vanity Light with Clear Glass Shades

Based on the description I was expecting to receive a light that had matte black and gold finishes. First off, the gold is not what I’d expect anyone would call gold. As you can see by the pictures it’s more of an antique brass or burnished antique. I don’t really care for the combination with the matte black so was disappointed overall. Second, when assembling the light you need to put the glass globe over a threaded section of the bulb base and screw on a lock ring. As you can see by the other pictures it’s pretty tough to get average size adult male hands into the globe to screw on the ring and get it appropriately tight. You basically have to do it with your finger tips and it’s hard to get the appropriate torque. Smaller hands might be fine but it’s not the greatest design. Other than that it’s a well made light that comes with all the fittings needed to connect it to an existing light location.

Classy and stylish matte black light fixture with just a touch of gold bringing out the elegance of this light fixture. I wish the installation would have been easier. For people with large hands, it makes it difficult to assemble because the light can only be installed facing down and the glass is relatively small to get your hands inside. Having said that, I would still buy it again. I love how it looks in our bathroom with the black fixtures.

This Tobias 4-Light Matte Black and Gold Vanity Light with Clear Glass Shades is one of the most attractive light presentations I have seen and I have seen a lot of them! It not only looks like quality but has the heft and sturdiness as well. It is suitable for use as a bathroom vanity light but also over a kitchen sink or a home bar. Anywhere a classy lighting accent is needed The glass is real glass and therefore fragile. I have read complaints that the glass bell is too narrow to comfortably screw in a light bulb. My hands are average sized. The fit was snug but doable. Required light bulbs are 60 watt type A bulbs or LED equivalent which turn out to be A19 or A15 bulbs or ST 58bE26 Edison LED light bulbs. The advancement in light bulb technology has produced much improved lighting. However, it is tricky to navigate all the options. This truly is a lovely fixture. Well done !!!

I was looking for a bath vanity light that had a modern look, but with warmth. The Home Decorators Tobias 3-light Matte black with gold / brass look is a perfect blend of old and new. This will be a perfect complement to our guest bath room that has black vanity sink faucet and antique brass knobs. The glass shades are narrow and long giving the fixture a very high-end look at a value price. Overall, I'm very pleased with this great looking 3- bulb vanity light and looking to many years of use.

This light fixture looks very elegant. I’m very glad I chose the dark color instead of brass for this bathroom. I’m using 60 W bulbs with it with daylight brightness instead of the yellow looking bulbs. First things first I’m really glad they package this thing with a lot of Styrofoam. It rolled around in the back of my truck and it did not even phase it. Installation was really simple and straightforward. I’d say it took me about 30 minutes to remove the old fixture and install the new one. And when I wired it I ended up just wiring it the old fashion way. It does have an option with some push in wire thing on the bracket but I preferred to wire it like normal and it functions like normal. I wish I would’ve connected it to a dimmer but I didn’t. What I really like is the glass on it is not cheap and thin. It’s actually pretty thick. I have pretty big hands so I struggled a little bit to screw in the bulbs. another thing I liked about it was it could be installed upwards or downwards but I preferred upwards. And my vanity is pretty small so this thing was right up my alley. And I got pretty lucky that it’s centered out pretty good.

The Tobias 3 Light Matte Black and Gold Vanity Light with Clear Glass Shades by Home Decorators Collection looks great and will definitely change the overall look of any bathroom. The combination of matte black metal with the antique gold light sockets coupled with the clear glass shades has a nice rustic feel to it. I think the addition of LED Edison Bulbs completes the look. (Note: bulbs are not included) I ran into a few issues during the installation. The first issue I came across was with the “Easy Connect Technology”. The problem is the connectors stick out of the back of mounting bracket. When I went to line up the mounting bracket with the screw holes in the electrical box in the wall the connectors impeded it from lining up properly. You only have a few options. The most drastic would be to open the wall up and install a new electrical box that will line up properly. The next would be to remove the quick connectors, install the mounting bracket and wire the light up like any electrical fixture. The other issue I ran into was installing the glass shades as well as the light bulbs. My hands were way to big to fit inside the glass shades in order to secure them properly. While not as bad, I also ran into this issue while installing the light bulbs. I actually had to have my 11 year old daughter finish this part of the installation for me. With all of that being said this light is still visually stunning. It is the perfect size and adds plenty of light. Additionally, it is versatile with the combination of textures, colors and finishes.

I'm installing this Home Decorators Collection Tobias light fixture in my mater bathroom. It's a single sink but it has a lot of counter space. Everything in the bathroom is nickel right now so this will be the beginning of a black and gold makeover. The description says gold but its more of a brass or bronze color in my opinion. It nonetheless looks amazing and is a nice change from the usual finishes.

This is a very attractive, nicely built light fixture. I prefer the clear glass pieces as they allow all of the lumens produced to be utilized. They also look very attractive with Clear bulbs. The mounting plate is interesting in that the push in wire connectors are integrated. Since the light fixture has solid wire this works very well. Very pleased.

This is a very attractive, and nicely built fixture. I really like the clear glass, as it allows all of the light produced by the bulbs to be used, and they look very nice with clear LED bulbs. The fixture wiring is solid, and works nice with the integrated push in wire connectors. This helps with wire management and makes wiring easier. It would be helpful to have someone with medium to small hands to install the threaded retaining ring. My size large hands were just able to get it started on the threads. This will go in my cabin once I can get in in the spring!
