What type of ground prep is needed to install in NE to keep rain and snow out
Hello Carole. Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. It is recommended to remove the grass from the area where the shed will be placed. Pack the soil down and pour at least 2 inches of gravel in the area to allow water to drain underneath the shed so the floor doesn't become soggy or damaged. The product manufacturer Little Cottage Co. recommends using crushed stone approximately 4-5" deep, and advises to have 12" of stone around the perimeter of the outbuilding to control weeds and keep moisture away from the building. The Value Floor Kit does NOT come with 4x4 runners, these are the treated wood that sit directly on the ground that you would build the flooring.
