24 in. x 80 in. Plantation Full-louvered Painted White Solid Core Pine Bi-Fold Interior Door

Cannot recommend. Too many issues for the price paid. Purchased two doors. One had to be returned due to paint peeling and substandard milling. One of the holes was drilled so large, the door hardware would not work. See photos. On the other door, the threading on the hardware was so poor, the bolt screw would not work. I had to buy a separate bi-fold hardware kit to finish installing the door. Should not expect these types of issues on a door that costs $130+ each.

I decided to gut the breezeway and give it new everything. When it came to the doors I ran into a major hurdle. After I replaced the drywall the opening was 79.5 inches in height. In my case this meant cutting the doors down to fit. something I wasn't comfortable doing given the price of the doors. So I asked two Home Depot associates if these doors could be cut down. Both said yes, but gave different amounts I could cut off before reaching the "hallow " section. I bought 1 door. After looking at the door I determined the door was NOT hallow. I removed one panel and cut it. cut the second one. It turned out great. I ended up taking 2.5 inches off the bottom.

Will rate as a very good product matching the cost of it. Just installed so no input yet on long term durability or functionality. Installed in opening between kitchen and family room. Wife wanted a means of closing off kitchen while cooking to prevent cats from bothering her then. So, this is a non-traditional use as most common use is as a closet door. Two points: 1. Will need to figure out best place to install pulls on both sides of the door when used between rooms. 2. Only problem was in installing the top insert which has the wheel; spring loaded. Instructions said to install with a few taps. Guess I was a bit enthusiastic in my tapping as I broke the fitting such that the spring didn't work and had to buy a new one. Fittings will not easily slide into hole so some level of tapping is required to properly seat the plastic sleeve in the hole. Not sure whether a problem or just a recommendation for other installers to not be aggressive when tapping them in. This installation took a few hours as initial opening was oversized and I had to install a 2x4 and a 1x4 on each side to reduce opening to required size and then trim with casing molding. Actual door installation probably about half an hour. Plantation style much better looking than the smaller style slat.

With certain provisions, I would gladly recommend this bifold door again. In the store, it looks really nice wrapped up. However, there are 3 things I would like to point out that led to this poor review. 1). Once unwrapped at home, I saw that the pivot hole and surrounding frame were cracked thus compromising the structure (photo). I had to drive a very long way to purchase the door and decided to try and fix it myself. Failed. 2). The texture type in the description says it is smooth. This so wrong and misleading. The primer used is of extremely poor quality. It is very rough and I had to sand it to achieve an acceptable surface on which to apply the paint. 3). When I applied the first coat of (Behr Premium Plus) paint with a Wooster Pro Brush, the results were terrible (photo). The paint would not adhere well to the primer. It left unacceptable streaks and bare spots throughout the door (photo). There is no excuse for this poor quality of work. By comparison, I primed (Kilz2) and painted (Behr Premium Plus) another pine board at the same time. The results don't even compare (photo). Therefore, at this frustrating point, I am going to return the door. There is one really good thing about this product. Its very nice looking and I would have loved to have it in my house had it not been for all the flaws. Note: this review is not a advertisement for the products mentioned above. I just wanted the viewer to know I used quality products for this project to increase creditability of my statements. Finally, If you do decide to buy this door, please unwrap it and examine it for damage prior to purchase.

Husband and I installed in small half bathroom off of laundry room Great door. Had to cut it down about 2 inches in height and it is still solid. Slides easily in track. Love the look of the large plantation style louvers.

I can't speak for installation since my husband did it himself, but there were no complaints. We were creating a recessed pantry closet and needed a door. Cabinet doors weren't really an option, but this works perfectly. I chose this particular door since the louvers are about 2.5" (larger than most) and I think it looks nicer.
