We are looking for a rug we can put out on our covered but only screened-in patio (in central Florida). Will it need any special care to prevent mold and mildew growth? What should be its normal maintenance, other than periodic vacuuming?

After rain, it should be hung out to dry on both sides before laying it down again. This is the best way to prevent excess water build up that would cause mildew, etc. It can be cleaned by hosing it down and again, hanging it out to dry on both sides.
