The height is 51" tall.
What is the actual height of the whole unit? 13 in as stated in the description seems small..

Is this made out of wood or particle board?
MDF and Particle board
It is made out of particleboard. I purchased two of them. The second one had to be replaced three different times because it broke in shipping to the Oxford store fo me to pick up. I finally gave up having them replace the second unit and cancel delivery of the second unit.
1. If I get 2/3 side-by-side and attach them, can I eliminate the BASE? 2. Are these "particle boards"? Particle boards get bad reviews when attaching them. 3. Do you have a larger unit where I don't have to bolt them together?
The base helps the unit from tipping forward and yes made of particle board. We sel a double wide, BMA-0320
What is the measurement between shelves as shown in model?
About 81/2 inches
Approximately 7" on the bottom shelf, 6.25" for each of the CD shelves about 5" on the top. It is dictated by the placement of the shelf holes.
can this be mounted to a wall?
No, it can't be mounted to the wall. We do have a similar wall mounted version though. Search for BFW-0349
