        Does it come with blade
        ByJan 30, 2024

        Answer This Question

Yes only a 40 tooth. Which is just ok for cross cut. But get a 60 tooth for comb work, cross cut, miter cuts, bevel cuts. A 80 tooth or higher will be best for finishing work....

Does this miter saw have an LED laset built in?

            Answer This Question

Can anyone confirm it has or don't a shadow line? Few reviewers said it does, other said it doesn't. Not sure who to trust? One reviewer showed a switch for a LED, but I am not sure if LED just lighten the work area or really shows the shadow cut line?!

LED light shines on the cutting area, a shadow line is cast by the blade to exactly show the cut line.

NO... The R4231 hybrid, small sliding, dual bevel, 12 inch "Next" miter saw does NOT have a Lazer or a shadow light of any kind.

Regarding R4231, is this another Delta-made saw? Again 5 yr warranty here, unlike lifetime with TTI made. And same belt cover. But why are half the people here reviewing the (Delta-made) R4251 and posting pics and going on n on but HD doesn?t correct?

                  Answer This Question

Yes this is another Delta made saw and yes HD does not seem care to fix the cross product reviews. In fact, the last product picture at the top of the page is wrong too (hit the +2 and you'll see the R4241 10-inch articulating arm saw)

                    Beast of a saw!
For years I have had a black and yellow miter saw made by another company. I could never get it adjusted to give me true, accurate cuts on crucial angles for trim work. I am so happy to say that my frustration is over. This Ridgid dual bevel saw is awesome! It came packaged very securely in a padded box. Setup was very simple; just line up the board extenders, screw on the feet and clamp on the dust collector. Done! The powerful 15 Amp motor combined with a 12" 60 tooth carbide blade makes cuts effortless. Setting the angles is a breeze. I was pleasantly surprised when I made the first cut and a bright LED light came on as I pulled the trigger. I know that is not unique to this saw, but it was new to me and appreciated! I put it right to work cutting some 4" baseboards. I couldn't have been happier when everything lined up on the mitered corners. Packaging says it can cut up to a 10" wide board, but I didn't get close to that. This saw looks and performs beautifully.

Probably the best miter saw I've ever owned.
I’m a homeowner / DIY’er, not a pro trades so this review comes from that standpoint. The bottom line first – this saw cuts straight and true right out of the box. Fit and finish is excellent. Speaking of the box, you may want some help in unboxing and setting up this saw – it’s in the 50-pound range and enclosed in foam packing that makes it difficult to get out of the box. Setup wasn’t difficult; there are few pieces you need to assemble, but the tool is heavy and can be awkward to maneuver during assembly. The work extenders (see photos below) required the most effort. They need to be attached to the underside of the saw, so you either have to have a partner hold the saw on an angle while you attach the extenders, or you need to slide (carefully!) the side of the saw off of the workbench far enough to get access to the bottom of the saw. This is the approach I used since I was working alone. Don’t overbalance the saw and lose control. The saw is not as loud as I had thought it would be (YMMV); my battery powered circular saw is louder (I tried both out it my basement shop to make sure; I don’t have a decibel meter, but the circular saw sounds louder to me). You should, of course, use hearing protection as well as hearing protection when using this type of tool. One thing I like – my old miter saw has a laser line adapter attached that runs off of batteries. In the Ridgid tool the “Shadow Line” runs off of the tool’s main power, although the Shadow Line has a separate on/off switch (see photo below). The dust collection system is working well for me; there’s a small rubber adapter that sits behind the blade and helps guide the sawdust up into the collection bag. You can use a vacuum instead of the bag if you prefer, a vacuum adapter is included with the saw. There’s on-board storage for the included hex wrench. Motion on the saw slide is as smooth as I’ve seen on any miter saw, and the measurements on the cutting guides are spot on. Once I had the thing unboxed, assembled, the safety manual read, and the saw plugged in I was ready to work. The plug is a two-prong plug; the saw has internal grounding, so no grounded cord is needed. You will want to read the owner’s manual to make sure you catch all of the nuances of saw operation (saws are basically the same, but there are some minor differences that are good to know). Another thing I like – a full list of replacement part numbers along with a parts diagram is included in the paperwork. That’s a nice touch, I wish every manufacturer supplied those. Time will tell (the saw comes with a 5-year warranty), but I think this may be the best miter saw I’ve ever owned, it’s that nice. The specifications of materials that the saw will handle are listed on the Home Depot website. As a homeowner / DIY’er I don’t think I’ll be overtaxing the saw’s capabilities any time soon. HTH Regards, Jim

Perfect miter saw for the weekend warrior! Works great and very precise cuts. Just as good as a more expensive unit.
