Hi Jamie. There is an outdoor pad that we would recommend for this here: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Safavieh-Outdoor-Creme-2-ft-x-8-ft-Non-Slip-Rug-Pad-PAD140-28/205163524. However, if you are planning on placing things on top of the rug heavy enough to hold it down a pad might not be needed. Thank you.

Does this runner get really hot outside? I'm hoping to use this as a path for my dog to go outside-the composite deck is so hot!
