Is any of the desk material engineered wood with veneer exterior?
The Aspen Post 6-Drawer Executive Desk is manufactured with engineered wood. The panels have a paper finish that is covered with a protective top coating to prevent scratches or fading.
is the top a smooth finish, or does it have crevasses, example: when you are writing notes on a piece of paper will the pen "fall into" these crevasses?
The Aspen Post 6-Drawer Desk has a smooth finish so you would not see bumps on the paper while writing.
Can this be easily painted. I would like to paint it white…
Thank you for your inquiry. Sauder does not promote or support painting our furniture. Our decorative surfaces are finished with a clear coat that contains silicone waxes. These waxes are designed to resist adhesion of common household products like food and markers. It also minimizes absorption of water-based products that could ultimately damage the surface. In fact, our furniture finishes act much like the liquid finishes that are applied in the automotive world. By using silicone wax, paints and finishes will display adhesion problems that may lead to peeling, cracking and premature performance failure.
