I have incredibly mixed feelings about this product, but you'll understand soon enough why I gave it only 1 star. My fiance and I moved into a small basement apartment and quickly realized our queen box spring would not fit down the narrow stairs. We ordered this platform for our bed. Pros- Affordable, Sturdy, Lovely, Matched our Headboard, we don't have to sleep on our mattress on the floor anymore, it arrived quickly, it was easy to assemble. 5/5 Cons- Although it came in pieces some of those pieces were very heavy to move downstairs. The delivery driver struggled with it as well. and of course.... the corners. The platform itself is slightly larger than the dimensions of our standard queen sized mattress, which means that unless you want a 5 inch gap between the wall and your mattress, the edges will stick out. These sharp, dark, solid wood edges reach out into the safe space around your bed and when one is half asleep trying to walk to the bathroom at 3 am, it strikes. It strikes and you are instantly filled with the horrifying pain, frustration, and rage of a thousand stubbed toes as your ankle connects with that frigging wood corner. I'm lucky to be a healthy young woman with solid bones cause I swear some days I thought my leg would snap like a twig connecting with this barge. And of course it's 3 am and your guy is fast asleep so you do that awkward "silent scream from horror movies where the killer is in the next room" bit and try to be a good roommate while your leg wants to fall off and you bite back tears. But it's OK because the frame has attacked him too on several occasions. My ankles are so bruised and swollen you have no idea. It preys upon the area of your body that has the least amount of body fat and sinks its teeth in when you are most vulnerable. Beach season is coming ladies and I look like a .....I can't even think of an appropriate analogy for my condition because what hobby results in this kind of severe ankle bruising??? Jump ropers maybe??? I've attached a photo of our dollar store solution in hopes to impress upon you the severity of the situation. Don't judge. If this fails I'm digging out my Dad's jigsaw and cutting the corners off all together. Who cares? My bedroom ain't ending up on the cover of House & Home and I refuse to dismantle the beast and return to our floor mattressy ways. Thanks for reading. Please send ice packs. In summary, 1/5 room looks great, my ankles look bad.

My bed came broke.

Fun and easy to assemble, good quality at an excellent Value.

Description is accurate, however the support underneath the pressboard base is minimal. Don't step across it while attaching the headboard like I did.

Surprised these cost less and appear sturdier than from Ikea. I got this for appearance but also because my cats were always running under my bed at night....no more!! I put it together by myself in just about an hour. I used a cordless screwdriver which helped quite a bit . My queen mattress fits easily with about 1 inch around all sides to spare . I did choose to also put my box spring on top because I just don't like having a low bed . Highly recommend, though my cats strongly disagree.

I purchased this bed frame and was extremely disappointed to find that it was split down the middle when opening the box. I'm sure this happened during shipping, but the product is obviously not sturdy or good quality if it cracks that easily. I would be scared to sleep on this flimsy material.

Make sure you have a well equipped workshop and a handyman around if you purchase the headboard. We purchased this set (6 drawer dresser, night table, platform bed and headboard) -- after several weeks on backorder, everything arrived in great condition. Assembly instructions were clear (better than the average Swedish box store items with spare screws/dowels etc galore) -- but still required most of our free time this week to pull it all together. So...tonight, we completed the project (or so we thought)....last step was to screw headboard onto platform...NOT SO FAST! The headboard was 5 inches TOO TALL, and a whopping 6 7/8 inches TOO WIDE for the platform. Nothing would work short of ...well, cutting it shorter and smaller. Left messages with South Shore and called homedepot.ca 1-800#. I pointed out the problem and suggested: 1. they check the website (for review posted by someone else Feb 27) 2. order the bed and headboard and assemble it themselves 3. connect with South Shore Despite us not being the first to report this -- they seem surprised. So to those of you out there who have invested 15+ hours assembling -- and run into the same issue: here's the fix: Cut the sides 5 inches shorter and 6 7/8 inches on the width to make a perfect fit for a double bed...Good luck!
