How much weight will this support? Washing machine leg?
HI bbbb, The Victorian 12 in. x 6 in. Steel Floor vent is made from 11ga (.120 in.) steel and is designed to handle regular foot traffic as such it is very robust, and the weight of a washing machine should not be a problem provided the weight it is not concentrated in a small area. Also, please note that the largest opening on the Victorian vent is approx. 3/4 in. so if the leg is too small it may fall into the opening. Thank you for your question, The SteelCrest support team.
Are these paintable?
Hi Rambo, Yes many of our customer paint the Victorian 10 in. x 4 in. White Powder Coat Steel Floor Vent to match their decor. We suggest consulting with a painting professional for how to prep for good paint adhesion. For the best overall look when completed we also suggest removing the damper before painting. What size is the opening for the register box?
Hi Jeff, The Victorian, 8 in. x 6 in. White/Powder Coat, Steel Floor Vent is made to fit an 8inch by 6inch register box opening and openings up to 1/2 inch larger should also be ok with the knowledge that the register may move around a little in the opening. The vent has an overall outside dimension of 10inches by 8inches. The portion of the vent that fits into the register box is slightly undersized to help with ease of installation incase the register box is out of square. Thank you for your question.
