How do I repair the ceramic base when it cracks after winter?
Hi, to repair a cracked firepit base, clean the area and apply high-temperature epoxy adhesive to the crack. After curing, you can optionally sand and paint the repair. To prevent future cracks, avoid extreme temperature changes and cover the firepit when not in use. Ensure the firepit is dry before using it again.
Will this unit rust? It says it is ceramic, but also states that it is magnesium oxide.
I don’t think it will rust.
Can this be converted to natural gas?
I believe so but you want to check with your gas company tech to be sure
Can you use fire glass or ceramic logs instead?
yes and we also use fire glass in ours it gives it a beautiful flame
Can you hide the gas line in the summer when not operating the unit?
The fire pit is not the heavy to lift one side and tuck the line under. that is actually what I do.
Can you (and how difficult is it) to attach a longer gas line to it?
it is probably possible to change out the gas line for a longer one if the length that you want is available and it should be fairly easy to make the change.
Can this fire pit be converted to natural gas?
This is per the Use and Care Manual: *Propane gas is not natural gas. Only use propane for this firebowl. *The conversion or attempted use of natural gas in a propane unit or propane gas in a natural gas unit is dangerous.
can this firepit be placed directly on a wood deck
it is probably not recommended to be placed directly on a wood deck but you could put 12" X 12" square concrete patio stones under it as a precaution, it would take 9 stones to make a pad for it to sit on and protect the deck from any heat it may generate.
