Is there any formaldehyde in this rug, or other fire retardant chemicals?
Hi Chris. The Unique Loom Sialk Hill Washington does not have any added chemicals. All machine made rugs (made with polypropylene) will usually have some degree of smell, which is simply an off-gassing caused by the polypropylene pile - as this material is extracted from propylene gas. Standard polypropylene is within compliance with fire codes as it melts so adding these chemicals are not necessary. Like all polypropylene rugs, it will have some VOC emission but we have optimized the process to minimize the volume of VOCs emitted.

Who is the shipper carrier? UPS does Not deliver rolled carpet/rugs that exceed their handling limits. The rug I want is 9 x 12 and UPS will FOLD the rug, which destroys the tapestry design.
