I want to attach this to my house on 1 side. Can I use 4 vertical posts across front instead of 3 for the 24x12 size?

Unless they are causing some kind of obstruction. If you are going to attach the pergola to your house please use the 12x12 Freemont attached pergola instructions as a guideline.
