This coupling has no internal stop, allowing installers to slip it into place in tight locations.Thanks to its easy press connections, installing the coupling is quick and efficient. Can it be use on the low"vapor" side of a split hvac unit
Viega ProPress fittings are not approved for use on refrigeration or HVAC air conditioning lines.
Can pro press fittings be used on a natural gas line?
Unfortunately, we do not offer a ProPress copper fitting that has been tested, listed, or approved for natural gas applications. We do offer a MegaPress G carbon steel fitting for black iron pipe that is approved for natural gas applications up to 125 psi.
What is the compound of the o ring?
The rubber sealing element inside the ProPress fitting is made from EPDM or ethylene-propylene-diene rubber, is a synthetically manufactured and Peroxidically cured all-purpose elastomer.
Can the fittings be used on thin walled heat copper pipe
You can use this on type m and type L copper. You can also use it on flexible copper. If you want to use it on thin walled stuff for baseboard heating you have to install a stiffner into the pipe first.
Viega ProPress may only be pressed onto copper tube in accordance with ASTM B88 or B75. When pressing onto B88 copper tube, types K, L, and M may be used. Tempers O60 and O50, known as “soft copper”, are limited to nominal sizes ½" to 1 ¼". Temper H58, known as hard copper, may be used with nominal sizes ½" to 4". When pressing onto B75 copper tube, the tube dimensions must be in accordance with Viega specifications. Only tempers H58, O60, and O50 may be used with ProPress.

No. You need a specialty crimping tool and they are quite expensive. These are not a direct replacement for push-to-fit style fittings.

Can this be use under ground?
Yes, ProPress fitting are approved for underground applications, but does not supersede state or local regulations. Any installation must meet all state and local codes, including those for under slab installation, and proper authorization and/or permits must be obtained prior to installation.
