Use it as a Master Cylinder bleeder kit replacement.
I use it to substitute a Brake Master Cylinder bleeder kit that I couldn't find at the local store and the one I found online would take to long to arrive. I used this part and worked beautifully.

            Wrong Size on Label
I bought this item at the Clayton, GA store. Got home to make my repair, only to find out that it was a 1/4” x 1/2” adapter instead of a 1/4” x 1/4” adapter as was on the label. And there is so much Item Info, Barcode, etc on the package label that it’s impossible to see the actual Adapter until you open the package.

Bought two; one failed after a few minutes
These adapters work like SharkBite connectors and are useful for hooking up things that use plastic tubing like an undersink water filter as was my case. The filter unit itself has the plastic push-on fittings and so I decided to buy these for the connections on the other ends. All the connections worked well, but after about 3 or 4 minutes with the faucet off (the fitting under full pressure), it started spraying water from the push-on end. The tubing never came out, but a fair amount of water did -- enough to soak the inside of the cabinet. I ended up replacing it with the supplied 1/2" to push-on female adapter which seems to be holding. I made sure during installation to cut the tubing square and clean and also to make sure it was inserted into the fitting until it bottomed out, so I don't think this was an installation issue. The other one of these Watts fittings I used (same size) held secure, but it's only been about an hour. I was tempted to replace the other one with a standard 3/8 compression fitting using using the supplied ferrule, nut, tubing insert and 1/2" to 3/8" metal adapter, but when I looked at the tubing insert (plastic), it would have reduced the 3/8" OD tubing's inside diameter down to about 1/8" of an inch -- probably about 1/2 of it's inside diameter due to the thickness of the plastic, so I opted to keep the other one of these Watts fittings in place since the push-on side does not reduce the tubing diameter in any way. Hopefully it will hold.
