Why are the drawers not squared to the base unit? Is this a common problem and how can it be fixed?
The "squareness" of the base unit should be checked during assembly so that everything lines up when you put the drawers in. You can do that by measuring the length of each diagonal once you have the four "walls" of the unit assembled. It should be done before you put the back on with the trim nails so that you can make a adjustment if you need to. The diagonals will measure equally if it is square. (You'll want to have the unit laying down on its face when you measure.) Hope that helps!

Yes. I have se real if these stacked. For safety, I did attach the top one to the bottom using wood screws.
