A:  I don't see why it couldn't be. The lanyards pull the shield tight, so whether it's on the floor or ceiling it doesn't matter.

        A:  I use these on my AC vents during the winter months to keep the cool are from the attic out of the main house area. I bought these last year and have just reinstalled this year. They work excellent. The vents outside measurement is 12 X 12 so I bought 14 X 14 to seal around the outside of the vent.
