Answer This Question

A:  Hi Theresa, thanks for the question, You can use the Fast-Drying Interior Wood Stain on your bathroom vanity. Before staining, applying the Wood Conditioner first is a good idea so the wood accepts the stain more evenly. If the area gets a lot of use, you can also apply a coat of our Fast-Drying Polyurethane to offer more protection. Have a great day! -Ronald

Q:Do you have to use polyurethane? Can I leave it with the stain only? Since not NGR what grit should I sand with to not remove the new stain color? Will water based matte urethane raise grain? If so what grit is recommended to finish with?

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi there, thanks for the question. You don't have to apply polyurethane over the stain, A polyurethane or other clear finish would help protect the stain and give your project more of a sheen. It isn't recommended to sand the stain between coats. It's also a good idea to apply our Water-Based Wood Conditioner prior to applying the stain. Water-based products like Matte Urethane may raise the grain. If this happens, you can lightly sand the surface with 180-grit sandpaper. Please reach out to us directly if you need further assistance; our customer care team is happy to help you! -Ronald

              Answer This Question

A:  Hi Ricardo, thank you for your question. We do not recommend spraying the Interior Wood Stain. It should be applied with a nylon/polyester brush in the direction of the grain and allowed to penetrate for 2-3 minutes. Then, remove the stain that has not been absorbed into the wood with a clean cloth. Have a great day! -Giovanna
