Q:Will the planks sag if used on a ceiling? Thanks.

Answer This Question

A:  It’s all depends on what you use to secure them.  If you just use staples - yes.  If you carefully use staples into a stud they still might.  If you slather it up with construction adhesive it will probably stay.  But I bet you have issues.  It’s very thin material and gravity always wins.

    A:  Depends on fastening method/spacing

    by|Sep 3, 2022

A:  I used it on a wall and you have to hand my them with a little space and do not use any glue.   Glue or any type of adhesive or the wood wrinkles.   Hang it too tight and it buckles.  Took 3 times to get it right and I love it on the wall.  We used a dime to give it space between boards.   Good luck.

A:  These planks are great to use on ceilings as they are made from thermally-modified wood, which is lighter in weight than regular lumber at about 30%. Also, these planks are 5-10 times are more stable in size. We recommend a standard 16" span to attach planks to the ceiling structure and for the ceiling we recommend enforcing holding with nails with heads in addition to the provided finishing nails.

          A:  I wouldn't, it will twist

          by|Mar 29, 2022

A:  Yes, thermo-treated wood is great for saunas applications as it is light in weight and has improved heat insolation properties. Please enforce planks with headed nails in addition to finishing nails. Also, for saunas better use non-painted models of planks like # 101 (Grain Wood Pine) or # 102 (Poplar).

              Answer This Question

A:  The planks designed for walls and can't be used for flooring. If you use them for flooring (or table top) they should be covered with clear epoxy to make an absolutely flat surface.

A:  Not rough as far as splinters go.  But definitely not smooth.  They can be handled without gloves.

                      Answer This Question

A:  The planks themself can't hold pictures (except probably very light of them). For holding, please use nails through the planks (or between planks) to use the holding power of the wall behind the planks.

A:  Yes - you may use in bathroom (except splashing area). Our planks made from thermally modified wood, which is more stable and durable without any chemicals. When install this product in bathroom, please keep some space between boards (1/32-1/16) to allow wood to "breath".

Q:I got 60 pieces of white planks the other day and they have a very strong odor. Since I have cockatiels, I always use zero VOC paint. I am wondering what paint was used on the planks. I worry that this strong odor will harm my birds.

                          Answer This Question

A:  If the planks are fresh made they might have some odor for a few first days. We use indoor rated Zinsser white oil-based primer with low VOC, which is not harm. As planks tied together with wrap, they don’t have an opportunity to be ventilated. As soon as you cut wrap and allow planks to be ventilated for a few days, the odor will disappear.

A:  I though the box said they were green certified or something. We had to leave the windows open to the room for like 2 straight weeks. Then leave the room door open. It was very, very strong, we were getting concerned the smell may never go away, but it eventually did

                            Q:What does thermo treated mean

                            Answer This Question

A:  The thermo-treatment is a hight temperature exposure of wood (the temperature is around 400 degree F) in oxygen-free environment in special kilns. This allows to make wood durable with no chemicals, increase dimensional stability and turn color to brown exotic wood look. Thermo-treatment is a Green alternative of pressure-treatment of wood. On molecular level the thermo-treated wood is the same as 350-year old lumber. See a lot of information about this new technology in the Internet.

                              Answer This Question

A:  The drywall is strong enough to hold the planks. Please adjust a nail gun to not send nails too deep into the wood. Ideally they should be flush to the surface of the wood. Please also keep a small space between boards to allow them to "breath".
