Questions and Answers for GE 1.6 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave in Stainless Steel

A:  This model would make a great addition to your home. All 30" Over-the-Range Microwaves are approximately the same width and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our current 30" Over-the-Range microwave models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" Over-the-Range microwave model. When replacing an Over-the-Range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts and exhaust adapter should also be used.

A:  We appreciate you reaching out to us. On our models with a Reset Filter indicator, press and hold the Reset Filter pad for a full 3 seconds to reset.

A:  Thanks for reaching out to us. We recommend this microwave be connected to a 15 or 20 amp grounded outlet on a dedicated circuit for best operation. A:  All of our over-the-range style microwaves will fit in a 30" wide opening. We do recommend using the mounting bracket and hardware packaged with the new microwave. Here are a couple of models for your consideration that offer a similar oven capacity and fabulous features including sensor cooking - JVM7195DKBB and the JVM6175DKBB. A:  We offer several counter top style microwaves that are within or very close to the dimensions you mentioned such as the JES1657SMSS. This model is designed to be placed on your counter top, it is not designed to be built-in. We do recommend providing 3" clearance at the top and on each side as well as 1" clearance in the back for proper airflow. We hope you choose this great model for your home.

A:  Our over-the-range microwaves come with a power cord ready to be plugged into a grounded 120 volt, 15 or 20 amp outlet located in the cabinet above the microwave. It is not designed to be hard-wired.

A:  Yes, this would be an excellent replacement for your current model. They have the same features and the same mounting plate.

A:  According to the specifications, this model comes from our factory with the blower already configured for internal (recirculating) venting. You may need to install the charcoal filter to complete the installation.
