Q:is the wattage used on this fridge higher than 1875 watts? id like to use an outlet surge protector.
by|Feb 27, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: The running amperage is 2.5. That said, we do not recommend connecting a refrigerator or freezer to a surge protector. The compressor is sensitive to temperature and current overloads and will shut itself down with a power surge. It will also restart itself. A surge protector will override this system. If there is a power surge, your refrigerator may not restart when connected to the surge protector which could result in food spoilage.

Q:How do I get crushed ice? I only have the option for cubed ice. Also, the ice shoots out fast and hard falling cubes on the floor? Can it be adjusted?
by|Dec 21, 2023

Answer This Question
A: Hey there - Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your recent purchase of this refrigerator. We understand you have a couple of concerns, and we're here to help. Regarding your inquiry about crushed ice, please note that this model is designed to dispense cubed ice only and does not have a crushed ice feature. If the ice is shooting out too fast and causing cubes to fall on the floor, we recommend checking for any ice cube blockages in the dispenser chute. Ensure that the dispenser area is clear of any obstructions or ice buildup to facilitate smooth dispensing. Unfortunately, the speed and force of ice dispensing on this model are not adjustable. However, clearing any obstructions in the dispenser area should help improve the dispensing process. If these steps do not resolve your concerns, we recommend taking advantage of your warranty by contacting our GE Appliances Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737. Our dedicated team is available to assist you, perform a thorough diagnosis, and address any issues you may be facing with the ice dispenser. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced, and we appreciate your understanding. Thank you for choosing GE Appliances, and we are committed to ensuring your satisfaction with our product. -Kacie@GEAppliances
