Q:Can this be cut to length you need and the fittings will still seal up good on our floor flange
by|Oct 1, 2022

Answer This Question
A: Yes. Use a good, sharp tube cutter to obtain a clean cut. If any hanging chard(s), file them down. Use a HomeFlex termination flange on which to affix the CSST. Check out the CSST Design & Installation Manual available at homeflex.com/resources.

A: Brandon, it can be buried underground but with very specific provisions. Please consult the Home Flex Design & Installation Manual available on hd.com website or at homeflex.com/resources. We also make Home-Flex Underground products specifically designed for direct, outside burial (never under or in a home).

Q:can this be used for propane? hook up to a small tank outside and run it inside to an oven?

Answer This Question
A: Yes. BUT, depending on your local codes, this tubing is not rated to be run externally. It will need to be protected from impact and elements. A better option is annealed copper with flare fittings.

A: I'll look aside from the fact of how many codes this would break and address the question. It is rated for LPG so that's okay. It ISN'T UV rated so you will either need wrap it some type of UV repellant material (usually an insulating sleeve) or be sure there is no sunlight where exposed. I recommend using the iron pipe outside. Get the correct inline pressure regulator or you blow up your stove and possibly your house. Not many places sell these regulators to the public due to liability. There are a lot of needs when putting gas lines in a house so be careful. The line and tank are the cheap parts of the project. The product is good, but please be careful and don't blow yourself up.

Answer This Question
A: This product has to be installed in conduit if your planning to bury it. You need HOME-FLEX 3/4 in. DR 11 Underground Yellow Polyethylene Gas Pipe if you want to direct bury it.
by|Jul 23, 2022
A: There are specific codes and manufacturers recommendations with regard to gas lines and this product. There is a line that is made to be buried it might be better to check the plumbing code in your area.

A: Hi, David - It may be used outdoors but should be put in a non-metallic (PVC) conduit that is at least 1/2" larger than the OD of the CSST. Further, there should be no fittings. If connected to the home's gas distribution system, it should be bonded back to the grounding bar in the electrical enclosure. Buried? Yes, but again must be in a watertight non-metallic sleeve with no fittings . . . and it should be vented to the surface. For underground, we suggest you check out Home-Flex UNDERGROUND products. Please check details found in our Design & Installation Manual at https://cdn2.assets-servd.host/fixed-puma/production/HOME-FLEX_Installation_Manual.pdf.

A: It can be buried but you should put in a plastic conduit and don't put any fittings underground. Outside anywhere i would put in plastic pipe sleeve.

Answer This Question
A: Yes, but with very specific conditions. 1. Should be a solid run of csst with no fittings. 2. It should be in a watertight, non-metallic (pvc) conduit that is at least 1/2" larger than the OD of the csst. 3. It would be vented. 4. If attached to the home's gas distribution system it should be bonded back to the grounding bus bar in the electric panel. Q:Is this product work with the tankless hot water heater
by|May 29, 2022
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Certainly. Be sure to select the appropriate size CSST for your entire installation. Generally speaking, tankless water heaters use considerably more gas than a traditional water heater and you'll want to make sure you have enough for all appliances drawing off the same source. Check out out System Design & Installation Manual on homeflex.com/resources.
