Answer This Question
A: You would need to take out the remote receiver in the canopy and wire directly to house power. If you do that then you need a speed control on the wall switch position to get speeds.

Q:1. Can I control the fan/light independently from a wall switch? ie. turn on light when I enter room/keep the remote near the bed for adjusting the fan/light. 2. Why does light flicker for an instant when I turn it on then go to full brightness?

Answer This Question
A: The receiver should have two input lines, red and black, for two switches. The remote has a memory function so whatever command you have the fan set to per remote when you click power on/off at the wall it will remember.
If cutting the circuit at the wall this delay is sometimes normal. It should not do that when using the remote.
