A:  Because it's an impact driver.

    A:  Not much at all

    by|Jul 9, 2021

A:  I would say that is normal, since my Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Skill impact drivers do the same. I accept it as normal anyway since it has never created any problems for me during use. I see the same with all of the bits that I own.

    Q:How much torque?

    Answer This Question

A:  450 IN-LB. There are four settings, and the low range settings are what really set this apart from my older M12 Fuel Impact; this one is so controllable, most times I use setting #2, since setting #1 is more for delicate work.

    by|Oct 25, 2020

A:  It's rated at 450 in. Pounds. This is more then enough for everything I have needed it for. This is not designed for lug nuts but in HVAC and home remodeling work I have found no situation that I felt it was underpowered.

Q:Is it possible to get the soft case with it as pictured in some of the reviews?

    Answer This Question

A:  My purchase came with the soft kit. I made sure that I bought the kit with the entire set and not the battery with the tool only added on.

    by|Jun 1, 2021

A:  Yes, buy the kit or you can get the soft bag aftermarket , elsewhere.

    by|Apr 21, 2021

A:  The non tool only version comes with the case, charger, and 2 batteries. The small batteries are good for random use but I always use the 4.0 and 6.0 batteries since I use this drill daily for HVAC install.

    by|May 30, 2020

A:  when i bought mine earlier in may, it came with the case. As long as its the kit and not the bare tool.

Q:What is the difference between the M 12 fuel surge and the M 12 fuel
      by|Apr 3, 2020

      Answer This Question

A:  Fuel designates the latest motor and battery utilization technology. Also brushless motor tech. Surge is another step up with the impact components sealed inside an oil filled chamber, making it quieter and most likely a much longer life. So you can have a Fuel 1/4" impact driver that is not a Surge (hydraulic) model.

      by|May 29, 2023

A:  The surge uses a hydraulic hammer mechanism. The m12 fuel uses a metal on metal hammer mechanism

        Q:Can you return the charger?

        Answer This Question

A:  No, it's part of the kit. You would have to return everything that came with it when you purchased it.

A:  The charger has a warranty, so if it is defective, you can invoke the warranty. If you want to return the charger to save $$, that is what craigslist is for.

A:  what do you mean by return? Charger has a 5 year warranty.

            by|Oct 24, 2019

              A:  No. It's worthless when you run 12V and 18V together because it's a 12V only charger.

Q:does it deliver the same torque as the older one? 1300 lbs of torque I believe it was.

              Answer This Question

A:  This impact has up to 450 inch lbs of maximum sustained torque.

              by|Feb 3, 2020

A:  Not sure on exact torque. The surge hlods a more consistent torque normally less than m12 fuel but steadier curve more of a plateau.

A:  It is usually available as "tool only". May be temporarily out of stock as this is a new product.

                    by|Aug 28, 2019

A:  From what I see Milwaukee only makes the kit available to Home Depot and do not have it without the batteries.
