A:  Any 40v battery will work. The higher the AH, the more extra runtime. The batteries packaged with the 42" and 53" are 12Ah ones. Anything 6 or higher will give you more time. I wouldn't recommend anything lower than 6.

The larger Ah size will provide more run time, so we suggest our 6ah (model# OP4060a), 8Ah (model# OP4080a), or our 12Ah (model# OP4012A1) battery packs. Also, it shouldn't be stored in area where the temperature is less than –22°F or more than 120˝°F. Additionally, the batteries and charger, should not be stored in locations where the temperature is less than 50 F or more than 100 F. If your shed meets the storage requirements in the manuals, then we recommend leaving the batteries in the mower to charge for the entire time of storage.
