A:  The BE469ZP Connect deadbolt requires a Z-wave hub for remote control. The Z-wave hub would connect directly to Wi-Fi and then the lock would pair directly to the hub. A:  Yes, the exterior keypad is weather resistant so the lock can be installed on an exterior facing door however it would not be suitable for gate use where both sides are exposed to the outdoors. A:  Yes, the keypad will accept codes even if the lock is not connected to a Z-wave hub as the codes can be programmed manually. The Built-in alarm will also work if not connected. This is programmed by using the SCHLAGE button on the interior lock assembly. A:  Yes, they can be rekeyed to match by matching the key alike code on the box or purchasing the locks and having them rekeyed to match by an authorized Schlage retailer or any locksmith.

A:  I installed this on 10/28/13 and the original batteries that came in the package lasted through 4/15/24 so basically 6 months. I’m in Denver with moderately cold winters.
