Q:I used the quick dry "SunBleached" to change the color a bit on a vintage piece of furniture years ago and did not seal. Wanted to decoupage now, but Mod Podge doesn't stick to the stain so thought about changing it to the Teal color. Will that work?

Answer This Question
A: Thanks for reaching out, Linda. Varathane Premium Fast Dry Wood Stain can be applied to previously stained bare (unsealed) wood. Prep the wood by sanding in the direction of the grain. Begin with #120 grit sandpaper and progress though #150, #180 and #220 grits. Since the wood was previously stained, be sure to test your stain to verify the desired color. To test, apply the stain in an inconspicuous area.
