Purchased this unit 3/13/2018 and it worked great. Four years later it seemed to develop problems. Since I didn't use it a lot I didn't worry about it. Had an upcoming event I needed to attend and wanted to get the unit fixed. Since Briggs & Stratton sold out it is hard to find factory authorized service centers even in large cities such as Denver and parts are either unavailable or high as hell. A much as I liked the unit I recently changed brands just because of this repair/parts issue. Sad!

This baby performed perfect during the outages. It was nice to roll it out, pull the string once and getting it started. I had a 75” tv, fridge, deep freezer, some lights, and the furnace running comfortably. I even ran an extention cord to my neighbors house to power his TV and furnace. Every now and then i used the microwave. It is very gas efficient too, The tank of five gallons lasted overnight with some to spare, i definitely recomend this generator

We haven't used it yet so now the fuel is too old. The sales people said there was a tap and it would be easy. There is no reference in the manual or on line !! ?

This generator keeps tripping out when hooked to a rv air conditioner because a rv is 120v and requires 30amps not 20.8 amps, The 120/240 vote plug only has 5000 watts when 240 vote is set up, so when running the 120/240 vote plug on 120 votes it's only running on 2500 watts max and that's not enough watts to start a rv air conditioner. This is a home back up generator 240v set up for 5000 watts only and not recommended for a rv.

Great midsize inverter generator. Powers our food truck and does it quietly and efficiently. Can’t ask for more! Well worth the money.

I used this Generator for less than 20 Hours and it died. I took it to the first Briggs and Stratton dealer and it was there for 3.5 months before they told me they could not fix it and I needed to take it to another dealer farther away. I took it to the second dealer and it has been there for almost a year waiting for a control board. The generator is going to run out of warranty soon and I have barley used it. The dealer is having trouble contacting Briggs and I have also sent multiple emails. What a waste of money!

Purchased for home outage backup. Quieter than regular generator. More compact, lighter and more maneuverable. Easy to start. Packaging was very "mangled" on delivery. Plastic external housing of the generator was cracked by one of the wheel areas. I have seen multiple reports of such cracks.

Worked great for 4.5 years. Then the inverter stopped working and it will NOT put out power! So I sent it to get fixed to an authorized service center but they have no clue when or if they will ever get the part in from the manufacturer.

Worked like a Top in the 'test drive'! Haven't put it to full work yet. Very pleased at how quiet it runs. Started with no problems!

Works reliably. The capacity is enough to power my house. The only complain is that the plastic cover is broken at multiple places upon arrival. The joints to connect the plastic cover with the frame are too fragile that they break easily under vibration. Those are minor defects and they do don’t affect function.

Does not start as easy as I think it should. Takes 4-5 pulls. But once running it seems to work good

Bought unit worked ok minus very cheaply made plastic enclosure. All screws holding plastic together fell out in a few weeks. Unfortunately about 9 months after buying from Home Depot unit broke. No problem it has a 2 year warranty. 4 months later I’m still waiting on Briggs and Stratton to send warranty shop an ignition coil. No idea if I’ll ever get my 1000 dollar generator back.

I bought this generator new. It has never worked correctly. I have been waiting on a replacement part since the beginning of June for warranty work. Now I need my investor generator for the next 2 weekends. Now I either do without or I have to eat the cost and buy a new generator.

This generator was extremely quiet and very user friendly. I would definitely recommend!

My AC is 15,000  btu and my generator is a q6500 briggs and stratton inverter generator. It states it has a 5000 watt normal running capacity. This generator will not run my air conditioner. I may have to install a soft start in my unit. Is this normal but my generator is so massive.

i would not recommend this product. Briggs and Stratton service as bad as their product.

Not to brag but I've done my fair share of pull starting engines in my life. I give this one all I got and if I am lucky it catches just enough to sputter up to speed. It's not a hot or cold thing either as if I warm it up and try to restart it is just as troublesome. Also, it doesn't ramp up with increased power demand very smoothly. It is kind of jerky and vibrates the whole chassis for a second. When running it does as expected and provides plenty of clean power. Glad I didn't pay two to three times more for a backup device but would love to get it to start easier.

Great generator, very quiet and easy to move because of it’s weight. Only negative is that as expensive as this generator is there is no way to lock it down without drilling through the outer case.

Not much here to say made in China. If you want to break it down to final product it really deserves ONE star the plastic panels are just horrible. They are out of shape and don’t line up with other panels.

I used this recently during the winter storm here in Houston Texas that left me with no power for three days. This generator is pretty quiet and did not use too much fuel. I used it mainly at night from about 7 pm to 7am and used a total of 6gal of fuel running only my tv, fridge, coffe maker and microwave, and ran an extension cord to my nieghbor. I wish i had a heater but we made it through. All in all this machine worked well for me.
