It has a lot of room and is very sturdy and resilient. But it has flaws. It has the modular design facing fowards rather than same direction as lid opening. And that really leave you having to remove other Packouts in order to access a box or drawer that would be behind one another. If the Packout design faced out the way the lid opened, you wouldn’t have this issue. Also even with a lot of weight the Packout still rolls around if it’s laid down and not blocked with something. It has the ability to stand up but it should also have the ability to just roll off the truck and start moving.

Shipping box was intact, but when I opened it I foound a drawer handle was cracked. This should have been noticed during packaging.

I bought this for a specific use case. I wanted to have a large box in the back of my truck bed that would also fit under the tonneau cover but also could move around easily. Started out with the Husky brand and that was good, but was smaller, limiting the amount of cargo. I then decided to move to the Milwaukee Packout 38 inch Rolling Modular Tool Chest so that I could get more items in the truck while also being able to connect my other Packout items when needed. I was able to fit this with the Milwaukee Packout Deep Organizer on top of it. That is as much as I will be able to fit with the tonneau cover closed. I also placed this in front of my bed extender when it is placed back into the truck. This works perfectly if I want it at the front of the truck bed. The box is big enough that I don’t anticipate that it will roll around very much while in transit. I will likely strap it in just in case. It comes with a padlock hole so that it can be locked. Therefore, I could reasonably lock this into the truck if somebody felt so compelled to cut through my tonneau cover. The box itself is light enough, but if you were to fill this completely with heavier tools it would be difficult to get it out of the truck but not impossible. The box is designed in a way that it could stand on end and would provide one more way to save space in the truck bed. At the time of this writing the price is $229 but was able to get it for $199 using Buy More, Save More. A little more expensive than other modular options but much less than a truck bed customization. Currently the best solution for a truck bed box and a no-brainer if you’re already in the Packout system.

Bought 3 to store and for ease of transport of my m18 cordless tools. Great purchase, fits my sawzall, drills, and jigsaw

Can't open without removing everything, need to get in drawer have to take everything off to get to it.

Got to mount in my SXS. Nice little tool box. Small enough to fit and big enough to bring all the tools I need.

Got this cooler new noticed water dripping out of drain check drain was loose tightened Washers, still leaks, this cooler is junk

Latches deteriorate when exposed to chemical fumes. The plastic. Nothing else plastic deteriorated (and I have tons of other plastic products in the same area), just the latches. Seems like a major issue Milwaukee! They won't warranty them, and the Milwaukee CS rep also said to "keep them away from anything that might cause corrosion, even salt water." REALLY? Don't take them on your boat!...packout cooler..same latches. Pathetic.

bought cooler to carry drinks while working on my fleet, Cooler doesn't hold temperature, it's definitely defective. Milwaukee claims it take up to 5 days for ice to melt, mine melts in less than 2 days.

Love that it fits in the back of my truck and is relatively easily loaded and unloaded. Easy to roll around. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is the plastic part of the latch broke on one side after only a couple months and it now only locks one side. Seems like it would be more durable. Looking for a replacement latch. Are they covered by warrantee?

This chest works great for my needs, if you have the packout drawers and want to access them while they are attached. I recommend placing them near the pull out handles. Also due to the wide base this is a little more forgiving if you leave the drawers open, it will not tip over as easily as the drawer would attached to the rolling base. This lost a star because it lacks dividers, there are slots for them but none present. I have tons of packouts and the rolling bases but I wanted a way to reduce the trips I make so I grabbed this. For jobsites without stairs, I would recommend this one. I would love to see one with 4 wheels. This is great for the framing nailers with the extended clips attached , as they do not fit in the other packouts. The standard clips will fit if attached in those , but not the extended ones. I would like to see one that comes in a larger option.

As a welder/fabricator, it’s great for toting around cables, clamps and tools that don’t fit (or I don’t want to stuff in) my normal packout boxes. It rolls nice and easy, even when loaded down. The hole for a padlock is reinforced with a metal ring, plus I like the prop on the inside so the lid doesn’t flip down. The prop is a bit flimsy but that’s not a big deal. The slots on the inside to slide in dividers is a nice bonus too.

Great tool box, big enough to house everything I need. I wish the packout holders on the top were facing opposite directions to make opening those top stored boxes easier but it is a very minor issue.

I am a Journeyman Lineman and I use this Packout for storm chasing (Hurricanes, Ice Storms, Tornadoes) this case is great to keep all my tools and the last job I was on was in a hurricane and my case was in the back of the bucket truck getting dumped on with rain but everything inside was bone dry!!

Very nice top quality product it’s very adjustable and well built

I got to the point where I was tired of always running back and forth between where I'm working and my garage/tool area. I ended up splurging on this when I had a pretty major electrical project to do. This saved me SO MUCH time and really helped keep me organized in a cluttered space. I was able to fit all my electrical components and tools on this with a medium packout on top. I even later got the radio because I enjoyed this cart so much.

Awesome box. Well worth the $. Doesn’t fit everything but it is extremely tough and compact. Great for the truck!

It’s a packout and good quality. But I do not recommend to anyone with a truck. It’s more for someone that has a van or constantly have someone with them all the time. Becomes real heavy when you load with several tools wish it had bigger wheels as well.

I absolutely love this rolling tool chest. It's heavy duty enough to carry around my power tools and a couple Packouts on top. My first complaint is after snapping on my 3 drawer box, I went to order a second box but I realized when they're locked in place on top of the chest, one of the drawer box's wouldn't be accessible bc they both face the same way. So the drawers can't be opened. And my second complaint is minor but I wish the tray it comes with wasn't made as deep as it is.

I’m a union carpenter that travels daily from one job site to another within the company I work for. These boxes are heavy duty and built to be on the move and used daily.

I was looking for a portable box to take to hob sites with me that would contain the basic tools I need to diagnose and repair cnc machinery. I had seen these in the store before but when I went to buy it, they were only available online. I knew I wasn't going to need the full depth of the foam so I ended up making 2 layers of tool space. There are 2 distinct levels of foam with thinner layers in each. I was not cutting all the way through the foam so I had to peel the layers apart. This wasn't the easiest thing to do but it came out pretty nice. I have some of the other PACKOUT boxes that are the same size, but this box is lighter which was a nice discovery. After loading a many tools into it as I could, any reduced weight is appreciated.
