The wine fridge arrived well packaged, with plenty of Styrofoam and crush space to protect it from shipping damage. As a result, the unit was perfect when unpacked! The only assembly required was attaching the front door handle. This was simple to accomplish: just use the two provided screws and the fridge was ready to use. The unit has leveling feet, but no adjustment was required for us. The wine fridge features two temperature zones, one for reds and one for whites. Once I set the temperatures, the desired temperatures were reached within about 15 minutes. I was struck by how quietly the refrigerator ran while it was cooling as quickly as it could. We have owned several other wine fridges and the noise associated with most of them was a real concern. This unit was placed immediately beside the primary TV-watching couch and the silence will really be appreciated. Another plus: the heat from the cooling unit is vented out the front, so it can be built in under a counter or tucked into a corner like we did. The slide-out shelves are arranged to accommodate differing bottle styles and sizes. One shortcoming of many wine refrigerators is their inability to handle champagne, pinot noir, or exotic bottle shapes. With this unit, though, there is a shelf pretty much for every size and shape. Frequently overlooked before purchase, but this is a huge plus for this fridge! After living with this wine fridge for a week, I am very pleased. Best features: nearly silent, attractive styling (the deep blue interior lighting is fun) and flexible wine storage options. I absolutely recommend this unit!

Yes, NewAir needs to update the description to reflect "21 Bottles" as there is no way 29 bottles will fit inside. We currently have 21 bottles stored inside and installed the unit into the area of where we had our old GE Trash Compactor. The wood shelves are very lightweight, easy to move in/out of fixed shelving and, seem sturdy enough to hold four/five bottles each. Installed one week ago and from the moment the dual temperatures reached the settings (40/50 degrees), the temperatures have maintained constant even after the door has been opened multiple times. The design and quality are nice and, the option to turn on the blue light inside is a nice feature. We gave the Energy efficiency rating "Good" since the fan runs almost nonstop Because of this, we do not think it is very quiet yet, we also keep a quiet household, with no televisions or radio/music playing throughout the day. We watched this model, the reviews and waited nine months before purchasing. So glad we did and highly recommend! Also, we purchased the three year protection plan for $90, for added peace of mind.

Received via FedEx Called customer service and was told to repack and return to store.. Waiting and praying 2nd unit works because I already have my rough in cut.

I am not sure if it fits 29 bottles, we never tried to fill it up. Nevertheless, I like the design and it works great, I especially like the dual zone feature. In the beginning, it used to give out loud sounds but I don't hear it anymore. It runs pretty quietly.

I had a previous NewAir wine fridge (21 bottle) that I was using for a while before I received this one. The AWR-290DB is a BIG step up from my previous wine fridge. PROS: The overall build quality is fantastic! The cedar shelves are far superior to the aluminum wire shelves in my previous model and it is much easier to fit bottles of different sizes next to each other. The humidity well is nice and both zones hold the temperature with no fluctuations. The unit is much quieter than my previous model AND, the best part, it locks so I can ensure that my small kids (or wife) can't get into my collection. Finally, from an aesthetics standpoint, it looks really nice! CONS: I saw that the zones were restricted in temperature range when I initially looked at this model online and didn't think much of it, but it did make a little difference when I was looking at which wines I was going to cellar in which zones. I ended up maxing out the temp in the top zone to get it closer to what I would normally cellar at, but it's not too far off and I would rather it be cooler than be warmer if I can't match the zones. Also, the instructions that came with the wine fridge really didn't describe how to assemble the parts that were inside. It would have been nice to have some more guidance but I was able to figure it out. CONCLUSION: This is a great little fridge! If you have a medium to large-sized collection, then you will probably need to buy a larger capacity model. However, if you have a small collection and want a space to chill the wine prior to consumption, then the NewAir AWR-290DB is a solid purchase.

There are so many great things about this wine cooler. The design is sleek. It is very quiet and it has dual temperature controls. I love being able to store both white and red wind in the cooler. It's also a great stand alone cooler although I do plan to have in built into my kitchen at some point.

We love the dual zones. Keeps the temperature steady fo for both Red and white wines. I also keep beverages from time to time at 40 degrees. Very quiet and looks great in the built in bar.

Only owned the wine refrig for about a month. Had it placed in my master bathroom. Fits perfect under counter and compact size makes it a beautiful addition. Stainless steel and LED lights give the refrig an upscale look. It is very quiet with just a slight hum when the compressor is on. Compressor stays on for less than a min. Temperature is accurate in both sections. The packing was sturdy and installation very easy. Works perfect for my use.

We have limited space for just about anything. Anything fun that is. This unit is quiet and was super easy to install. I think it is meant to be installed in a space the size of a trash compactor. We had a corner area that was almost useless for storage. We were able to cut out a single panel on the other side of the corner cabinet, drop in a plug and perfect fit. In our small house, this is a great choice. I had a few questions and NewAir's Ashley in Customer Service was quick to respond and big help. So far very pleased with quality of the unit.

This dual zone wine cooler is a lifesaver for those who like to keep a variety of bottles for guests. Now all of my wine can be kept in one place and at the perfect temperature. The adjustable shelves are super sturdy, even when pulled out and accommodate larger bottles like champagne. This one has a lock, making it great for parents with curious kids. All in all, I'd recommend this to all of my wine-loving friends, which is all of them.

So far so great! I'm in love with the dual zone aspect of the cooler and the fact that I can chill my wine at different temperatures depending on if they are red or white. When we first set up the cooler it took no time at all for it to cool down to the temperatures we set for each zone. But what I love even more is that it's so quiet! The cooler doesn't make much noise at all. I will say that the blue light can be a bit bright at times, but it can be dimmed and turned off completely, so not an issue whatsoever. They thought of everything!

I am obsessed with the smaller size of this cooler + the dual temperature control for storing white and red wines. The lighting controls also add some pretty ambience to the room. I love it!

We were thrilled to get this wine cooler. It's whisper quiet and looks stunning in our kitchen. The dual temp controls are perfect for storing our wines and beer. The cedar shelving is all top quality and houses the bottles perfectly! It has enough room for 29 standard bottles of wine. The "up" and "down" temperature control buttons are super easy to use and the one light button, which controls the LED internal light is a stunning addition. We couldn't be happier with it!

Bought this fridge at a charity auction. Brand new. On installation the fridge did not cool down. Called for help but, given I have no receipt, agent said there is nothing they can do. A new fridge should cool down...receipt or no receipt. NewAir should stand by their products.

The only problem is the door hinge is not a zero hinge and therefore it makes it tougher to use as a built in unit. The unit has to be extended out from the cabinets in order to open the door without hitting the cabinet next to it.

We loved it and am going to buy another one - however... This lasted us six years, but we were expected longer. I do admit that the under-counter space it was in, caused considerable heat. Service is not what I expect. I wrote to ask about beeping, got an email back that they would answer in 24 hours, but they didn't write back. Still waiting on an answer.

Heed the warning of other reviewers and don’t purchase this product. Worked for 5 months and quit working 10 days ago. We went through all the troubleshooting recommendations to no avail. Very disappointed for a $750 purchase

The fridge was working just fine for the first twelve months that we had it - very quiet, and kept the wine at the appropriate temperature. Two weeks after the warranty ran out, the fridge now sounds like an airplane is taking off in our basement. I've reached out to customer service twice now regarding the issue and have not been contacted since. I'm hopeful that Newair chooses to stand behind their products, but at this point I cannot recommend.

Dual zones are a nice concept so you can keep reds at a different temperature than whites. But, upon measuring with an infrared thermometer, the zones cross-contaminate. I wanted upper zone at 45 and lower at 54. When I set it to that, though, the upper bottles read 50 and lower 54. When I lowered upper zone to 40, upper bottles read 45 and lower 50. I tried a lot of different combos but couldn't get the bottles to be at the right temp in both zones.

The way the shelves are placed I was not able to put 29 bottles in the unit. The unit has a good cooling system, it has beer in operation for 2 days, will update this review when it has run for awhile.

Very disappointed, the wine cooler was great for a year and a half umtil it stopped cooling. After several calls to newair and several weeks dealing with this the best they can do is give me a discount on another wine cooler. Because this wine cooler was not expensive enough so I need to go spend more money only after less than 2 years

I have owned this wine cooler for only two years and it has completely stopped working. The light has sporadically turned itself on after one year of age. Liquid leakage on the floor started at about 1.5 years. Complete failure at 2.5 years. I might have to repurchase this brand due to the specific size of my cabinet modification, otherwise, I would definitely go with something else.

The wine cooler looks beautiful, and the temperature are holding true. The cooler is quieter than expected. Love it.
