Nice little lathe.
Overall the lathe is very nice. Plenty of power. Wish the tailstock had a better way to turn it.

The lathe lacked power. Had an older Grizzly Lathe that I loved. But the drive belt broke and was unable to replace it. I was not able to do the things I did with the Grizzly. So I returned it. I bought a Jet Lathe afterwards with a one horse power motor and I am very pleased with it. It’s like night and day compared to the Shop Fox.

This is a good beginner's lathe
The bed, headstock and tailstock are cast iron and of very good quality. The variable speed selection is very convenient, and the headstock & tailstock lined up perfectly out of the box. The cam clamp handles for tool rest and tailstock are crumby, but work. The spring pin holding the tool rest cam clamp popped out of its socket and needed a new one within 3 hours of service. The motor is good for pen turning, but bowl turning requires letting it "catch up" quite a bit. Good beginner's tool.

Adaquite
Worked well for a while but the motor seems underpowered. While working on a pen blank, the drill bit jammed the blank an stopped the motor so the fuse blew along with my breaker. I couldn't find that size fuse yet but ordered some today. I'm going to return it if the fuses don't work. If you buy this one, order extra fuses.

It started blowing fuses and when I called they were...
It started blowing fuses and when I called they were supposed to send me parts to fix it but did not tell me it could take up to 14 weeks to get the parts. It was under warranty so I would have returned it for a new one had I known it would take so long
