Can this be applied to an existing subway tile backsplash?
Hello,You can install peel and stick Smart Tiles directly over your existing backsplash, whether it is glass or ceramic provided that your surface is smooth, sleek and without texture. You must also take into consideration the width and depth of your existing grout lines as this might affect the outcome. Some shapes of tiles (ex: diamond) have more texture than others. We recommend testing with 1 or 2 Smart Tiles that also have texture before doing the full wall. * IMPORTANT: For the Oslo models, it is recommended that these be installed exclusively on smooth and sleek surfaces. Due to its size, the tile will tend to show any irregularities in the surface. If the surface is even slightly indented such as with a grout line, you must fill any gaps to ensure a smooth application of the Oslo. For the Norway Bleached Wood and Blok White, it is recommended that these be installed exclusively on a white and smooth and sleek surface. Due to its large size without grout, the tile will tend to show any irregularities and colors of the surface covered. However, for installation over existing tiles we do not recommend any of our XL (Olso, Norway, Blok, Brik) models or our Metro, Subway, Vintage or Zellige family models as they have a smooth tile size and the grout lines of your existing backslash will show through these models.

Hello,Smart Tiles are a type of self-adhesive tile that sticks to your wall without the need for additional glue. They are designed to last, staying in place for as long as you want when.Certain uneven or porous surfaces should be avoided when it comes to installing Smart Tiles. Also, your Smart Tiles shouldn't be installed outdoor. Here is a list of surfaces on which your Smart Tiles should NOT be installed: Textured wall,Unpainted drywall,Porous wood Textured ceramic tiles,Textured wallpaper,Inside shower,Floor,Countertop,Ceiling,Brick and Stone. In general, textured or uneven surfaces, as well as surfaces with relief, do not allow Smart Tiles to adhere optimally. Therefore, it's important not to install them on such surfaces. In some cases, it may be possible to smooth the surface by sanding it and applying a primer (letting it dry for 72 hours). To help you prepare your installation surface, you can refer to our detailed article 'How to prepare my surface for Smart Tiles installation'.
If you install the other Smart Tiles backsplash, does this get stuck to that or should it go directly on the wall with the other ST cut to fit around?
Hello, Best to remove before. As they are easy to removeable with little to no damage, depending on the surface they were installed on, by, useing a blow dryer to warm up each tile to soften the adhesive and pull softly starting with the corners. Use a cleaning product to wash the wall and remove any excess glue left by the Smart Tiles.
Can I cut this material to fit it into the specific dimensions? I need behind my range?
Hello, Thank you for your interest in the Smart Panel. We do not suggest cutting the stainless panel as this would void the warranty however it is technically possible to cut it as you would cut metal. We do offer other sizes as well such as 24x8 or 30x8.
Is this suitable for a backsplash behind a Wolf gas range?
