We contacted Home Depot about buying new window treatment for our Condo. Home Depot referred us to a company called Rockwood. The sales person made an appointment and came to our Condo, measured the windows, quoted a price and we signed the contract. We specifically told the sales person that we would be out of town for 2 weeks at the end of January. She said ?no problem, I?ll delay everything until you get back?. A few days before leaving town, we got a notice that delivery of the material would be in the middle of the time we would be away. We contacted Rockwood and they said the delivery schedule could not be changed. So we made arrangements to have the material covered in plastic after delivery and while we were away. Actual delivery came after we got back, but the delivery would be only to the curb outside our condo. It would be up to us to get it to our 3rd floor. I am 90 years old and not able to move the material. The Driver was persuaded to help us to the 3rd floor. An appointment was made 3 weeks out for the installer to come. He was to come on a Sunday starting at 9:00 AM. The day came and no one showed up. At 2:00 PM I tried to call Rockwood?s number, but they don?t work on Sunday. On Monday I contacted Rockwood?s number and they scheduled another install date in 2 more weeks with no explanation as to why there was a no show. The installer was to arrive 9:00 AM on a Saturday. No show all day. At 5:00 PM the installer called and said he would come at 9:00 AM next day. Finally, the blinds were installed. When we were asked to view the work, we found several things that were unsatisfactory. The pull cords and chains were too short for my wife?s 5 ft. 1 in. height to easily manage. We wanted the blinds to open in the middle instead of to the side. The cover that hides the rails had visible gaps and had material at the end just hanging. The installer said that there is nothing he could do about it and left without cleaning up. The old blinds and rails were left just where they were dropped when removed. The boxes and plastic wrappers were scattered all around. And the bits of the popcorn ceiling was all over the floor. Then the next day, while my wife was closing the blinds, the pull chain broke and now the blinds cannot be adjusted. We have complained to Rockwood and now have an appointment in 2 weeks with the installer. We will see if everything will be corrected.

Excellent service across the board from California Shutters. We did plantation shutters throughout and they came out beautiful. Manufactured locally, built to last, priced well, and ready for installation faster than any other quotes we received. We highly recommend. Ariel, the sales person, came to the house and explained everything thoroughly and simply, allowing us to make a decision on what we wanted that day. Eddie, the owner, who personally engaged, stayed in contact and was flexible with timing. And finally, Yuniel, who was professional, courteous, very efficient, and did an excellent job installing the shutters. We were happy with the process from beginning to end. The only thing I was a little uncomfortable with was paying up front but because it was through Home Depot, I felt confident all would be good, and it was.
