They tried to charge us $350 (1/4 the cost of entire project) extra at install to move a cheap lightweight foosball table and mini arcade cabinet. Installers didn't even come talk to me they just went to their boss to call and give me the news. After I refused and went down to move the 2 items myself I saw that they already moved them. Home Depot charged me $35 to move a treadmill which I was fine with and new ahead of time. I was told moving other stuff that was in the roomwhrn they came and measured would b no problem at install. Felt very scammy to try and upcharge the customer a crazy amount at last min. I'm sure it works on elderly people. If we ever have carpet installed by home Depot in the future we will not allow superior to b installer and have told all our friends and family and social media friends about this and to look out for the scam.

The crew that handled the project was incredible and polite, and gave me updates as things were evolving. I also had a manager stop in and make sure everything was as wanted

I tried many times to get you to correct the phone number that was mistakenly entered into the order. NEVER corrected, thus I NEVER spoke to ANYONE about scheduling, or when the crew would arrive. VERY disappointed. Then the install crew was just 1 person. Being in the service business for over 40 years, you do not send a single person to perform demolition and or installation services; always 2 people for safety reasons. Plus, it forced the single installer to fold the carpet rolls in HALF to be able to carry it by HIMSELF. This ruins the backing of the carpeting and leaves permanent lines and creases.

Frequently Asked Questions
How soon can I walk on my new floors after installation?
You may walk on your new carpet as soon as it's installed. We actually recommend this, as it helps press the carpet and adhesive to your floor. You can also put your furniture back in place when you're ready.
How can I get free carpet samples?
The Home Depot offers a complimentary selection of three carpet samples according to your preferences. Schedule your in-home measure online, and the samples will be delivered to your door!
Does The Home Depot offer carpet repair services in Johnsburg, IL?
Our local carpet contractors can install high-quality carpet offered in a variety of patterns and textures to match your lifestyle. However, they don't offer repair.
What's included in an in-home carpet measure?
Before ordering product, it's critical to have a precise measurement of the rooms in your house to avoid buying too much or too little. A professional measure tech will arrive at your residence at the scheduled time to record the dimensions of the rooms where new carpet will be installed. Afterward, you'll receive a quote for your project.
Which kind of carpet is best for my home?
Texture or twist carpet works great in every room, including bedrooms, family rooms, dens, offices, stairs, hallways, and basements. Patterned carpet is commonly installed in multiple rooms throughout the house, but not in basements. Loop or berber carpet works well in basements, hallways, and on stairs. However, this carpet is not the best if you have pets, as their claws can snag the carpet loops.
