My husband and I have always enjoyed our shopping experience at Home Depot ! This have been our go-to store for over 13 years and will continue to be. The staff is friendly, and down to earth and always helpful. The store is clean and well lit so you are able to see what you are getting.

I always get great service at the paint counter.

I'VE BEEN GOING TO THIS STORE AND ALL THE HD STORES IN MY AREA , OVERALL THIS IS THE BEST ONE FOR ME.

I frequently shop this store for many materials/tools and items which I use in many of the projects that I involve myself with. Recently I was assisted by a very professional employee {Flooring Specialist} who helped me in the flooring department. Overall, the staff at this store are consistently helpful and knowledgeable.

I don't normally write reviews, but in today's world where we see so many Brick and Mortar stores disappearing, I think it is more important than ever to give a review especially when you receive courteous, friendly and professional service. The Gates Home Depot is superior in creating a retail experience that is truly pleasurable. The store, and restrooms were very clean, the associates were friendly, knowledgeable, visible and showed a willingness to help the customer. I found exactly what I was shopping for and was on my way in no time. I look forward to shopping your store again very soon. Thank you Store 1278 in Gates N.Y.

I am so very satisfied with my local Home Depot store in Gates. The quality service I received in the appliances dept. (kitchen stoves) was awesome!! The gentleman assisting me was very thorough and he really knew his stuff. I felt very confident with his explanation of items, and placed my order for a new stove.

On Veterans Day, I went to Home Depot to buy snow melt. I parked my car in the Veterans parking space which is nearest to the customer service desk. A winter storm was building up and my wife was waiting in the car. I asked a young man if he could tell where the snow melt was located and he escorted me right to the location (outstanding!). I was in a hurry and I noticed there was no customers at the customer service desk but two young female employees who were laughing and talking. I asked one of them if I could check out there since it was bad weather and my car was closest to this exit. They both stated no and that I had to go to the other side of the store. I saw what looked to be two self check out registers there and asked if I could use them and again a firm no and then they went back to chatting. When I went to the other side of the store and checked out,I related my story to the cashier since I thought it was odd that I couldn’t checkout at customer service and the two young girls were rude with their tone and emphatic no. The cashier was horrified and apologized profusely whichI told her that I appreciated that but she was doing a great job. I rarely write reviews but in this case the contrast between the lady cashier and the gentleman who helped me to the two customer service girls was stark. My recommendation is that these two girls workin the back and not interact with customers - their overall demeanor with chatting and laughing and not serving customers does not reflect well on the store.

I really like this store and enjoy the friendliness of the employees. It’s easy to make small purchases which I do all the time. I have bought at least 15 Ryobi products, lumber, trim, glass block windows (which you don’t carry the correct mortar and I had to drive to Lowe’s), doors, paints and stains, and just a lot of things over the past few years. The bigger items are harder. For example, I’m now looking for flooring. I had to come back several times because the wait was too long. When I did have someone to talk about flooring with, I was very specific in what I wanted and what I did not want. I said I wanted a wood laminate flooring in a grain finish that was not oak. I said I preferred any other grain. I was shown nothing but oak. When I repeated I did not want oak, he walked me over to another display, again, all oak. I then asked how much was installation per sq. ft. He said my room would need to be measured. I said it was 538 sq ft and again asked the price per sq ft. He said we could sit down and do an estimate without any obligation. I gave up. I later found out it was comparable to other stores. I went to Lowe’s and the kid who helped me was young but answered all my questions and showed me the products I was interested in. The have sales on installation which I will wait for. I will still do most of my shopping at Home Depot, I just wish it was easier for the bigger items I don’t want to install myself.

Shop this store often & have never had any bad experiences. The employees are friendly & very helpful.

Joshua in the Flooring Dept and Kurt in the Hardware/ Lock & Key Dept are exceptional employees that cheerfully spent a considerable amount of time to help me decide which products to purchase and to explain each applicable item in detail, including pros and cons. I highly recommend these employees for their knowledge and friendly assistance.

Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and approachable. Especially Jason P. In paint dept. , customer service desk and gardening. We ordered 2 arbors online and pickup process was easy. The place is clean and organized.
