Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our local communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Cushion any and all items with moving blankets and bubble cushion to ensure your belongings make it there safely. Don't forget to check out our rental moving trucks if you need those, too.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
Having a generator means you're prepared for any circumstances life throws at you. Whether dealing with thunderstorms, snowstorms or strong winds, a portable generator lets you enjoy electricity when the elements take it out. When exploring different generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. Always run your generators outdoors, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
How can I prepare my home for fluctuating spring temps?
Ready your home for spring temperature swings by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could headed for major repairs later. Check cinder blocks and brick for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Lastly, vinyl siding and chimney caps should be swapped if they're in poor condition.
Does The Home Depot sell doorbell cameras?
Enjoy safety, privacy, and peace of mind with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through a peephole or window when you can see animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful to scare off would-be porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Most cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you easy and flexible accessibility. Save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
