The Home Depot Rental Center at Batavia

Take on any new DIY project with the tools you need — even if you don't currently own them. Rent tools, use them, and bring them back when you're done. You're free to complete your project without taking up shed or workshop storage with tools you only need every so often.

Tool and Equipment Rental
The Home Depot Batavia Tool Rental Center lets you do more complex DIY projects. You won't be limited by only what you have on hand or have to settle for untrustworthy hand-me-down tools. Rent the tools to finish your project safely. If your local store doesn't have the needed tool in stock, you may be able to find it at another one within driving distance.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, add another layer to your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies properly. It'll keep the house cooler this spring and summer, then continue working year-round. You'll enjoy warmer temperatures in the winter, too, which can lessen heater usage.

Tame the Lawn and Greenery Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and bushes with rental lawn mowers and edgers, and get that sidewalk and driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.

Rental Trucks
For transporting large tool rentals or anything else, we keep pickup trucks as well as box trucks ready to roll — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet at certain stores. You're sure to find the correct size truck rental for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for DIY jobs, it's easy to make us your source for moving and transport as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with the right pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the scissor lifts and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out specific large equipment, tool, and truck rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see which trucks or tools you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You may also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your favorite store. For more details on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.

How long can I rent tools or large equipment?

Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and bigger jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I choose how long to rent a truck?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before you choose a truck.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to pick up my rented large equipment from the store?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered and picked up from your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?

Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
