The Home Depot Rental Center at Coit Rd

Tool Rental
Jump into your next home improvement project with confidence and the correct tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Coit Rd Tool Rental Center fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the items you don't have on hand. You can rent what you need and bring it back when you're finished. If it turns out the rental tools would be more useful than you thought, inquire about buying our retired rental tools. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.

Tame the Greenery and Lawn Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the sidewalks and driveway with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, add another layer to your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies well. Installing insulation keeps your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.

Rental Trucks
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep trucks and cargo vans rental-ready — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths at certain stores. Choose the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for DIY jobs, it's simple to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the scissor and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and skid steers for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent trucks, tools, or large equipment?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You can also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is at your store. For more information on renting tools or large equipment, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.

How long can I rent tools or large equipment?

You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When can I bring the tools back?

You can return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a few hours?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract before selecting a truck.

Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to pick up my large equipment rental from the store?

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?

Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
