Gardening Specialist
I went yesterday to Home Depot buy a couple of screws and washers. My wife told me she wanted a plant, after I paid my 10 dollars for my merchandise I went to hunt her. I found her engaged talking to Flor, a gardening specialist. Oh My God. After talking to her, we ending buying the plant, seeds, a nozzle for the hose and more gardening products. Terrific associate, one of the best I have ever seen in a Home Depot. She knows everything about gardening and more. We spent over $100 dollars more but the class was free. She told us a lot of things we did not know about caring for our garden. We are very lucky we found an associate like really did care about us. Not like some that just point you or tell you the aisle and that is it. Flor went with us, show us the product, explained the product, suggested more products, etc… Terrific, terrific, definitely very satisfied with her. Next time I go, I will wait until she can help me. She is a great asset for the Home Depot at East Hanover. Again, thanks a lot Flor.

Fantastic Paint People!
Quick and simple, dropped by with two paint chips and a hole in the wall - ended up matching out the paint, determining the size, mixing it up and sending me on my way in less time than expected. Great job and quality work! Matched up nicely with the apartment walls.

Always a great experience
The store is always clean. The associates are somewhat knowledgeable and available for assistance. The store is always organized however when I get to know exactly where certain items are located, the store is often " revamped" and I have to spend some time to find an item where I always knew where it was. I also encourage more contractor / professional parking and a designated check out register for professionals other than the pro desk. There also should be more checkout persons rather than associates within the isles

Horrific experience
I looked up online for a 'siding mount' to use to install a new front door light fixture. The website said clearly, East Hanover had them "IN STOCK". The associate in Lightinmg sent me to MillWork, who then sent me to Electrical, who then sent me back to Lighting.
After 45 (FORTY FIVE) minutes, of searching Lighting, I found it myself. Associates were talking on cell phones ion the floor, no one wanted to help.
I will travel to Lowes next time, i am DONE with Home Depot, I counted 7 sales associates chatting like hens instead of helping clients. The Management of this store should all be replaced, it's terrible

As usual, cashier was nasty and sales associates did not want to be bothered
I tried buying motor oil for my power washer but did not know which type. I finally found a sales person who said "Why are you asking me"?

Bad experience with Customer Service a female associate , very bad attitude !!!!!!!
First was treated with a very bad attitude associate at the Customer Service Dept !!!
Than was helped by two very nice associates . Home Depot if you want customer to return to the Stores make sure all your employees are pleasant and helpful and knowledgeable .

Terrible self check out
Self check out didn't work. It wanted me to rescan items, and then tried to charge me twice. I went to another check out, and it wouldn't read my credit card. The associate said my stripe must be going. THAT WAS NOT TRUE! I went to two other stores after Home Depot and my card was fine. NEVER BLAME A CUSTOMER FOR YOUR OWN FAILINGS! Another person after me had the same trouble at the first check out location.

Great Employees, Not Such a Great Experience.
I have made quite a few visits to this Home Depot location. There are quite a few positive things to say about the store. The store is clean and in very good order. The employees are all very nice. They also take a great deal of pride in their work. The few times I have needed an employee's help that employee has always been helpful. However my most recent visits have not gone well.
I am hoping to have a door installed in an interior doorway in my home. In early April of 2015 I went to this Home Depot location to make arrangements to have an associate come to my home to measure the doorway and get an estimate for the job. The employee took all of my information and gave me a date as to when the representative would visit my home. Two weeks went by and nobody showed up at my home. When I called the store I was told that no appointment was on their schedule. I was also told I could not make the appointment over the phone. Since there is a $35 fee that has to be paid in advance I had to return to the store to make the arrangements.
I returned to the store Saturday, May 23 to purchase a portable air conditioner (Which I did for a very good price.) and to make another appointment. I spoke with a very nice man named Lou (He addressed me at one point as "Dude" which I did not like at all, but I did not mention it. Lou must a a huge fan of "The Big Lebowski".). I paid the $35 fee and made arrangements for a representative to come to my home Wednesday, May 27. May 27 came and went. Nobody showed up at my home. I called the store and spoke to Debra the department supervisor. She is a very nice lady. She apologized and told me a representative would call my home to arrange an appointment the following day. That never happened. In Thursday, May 28 I called and spoke to Lou again. He too apologized and was very nice. He told me to call again on Saturday, May 30 to try to make the necessary arrangements for the FOURTH TIME.
As I mentioned all of the employees (or "Store Associates" as The Home Depot calls them.) are very nice people. They certainly try their best to satisfy all of their customers. However I am growing very impatient with the very poor way this situation is being handled. This is just inexcusable. Out of the many experiences I have had at this location this has been the only poor one, but I just don't understand why this is happening.
Still, despite this problem I would shop there again and I will mainly because of their good products, selection and prices. However for home projects, I will in all likelihood go onto Home Advisor to find somebody else.

Lots of help
I visited from 2:30 to 4:00 PM on a Tuesday. (could have gotten out much faster if I wanted to) There was always some one there asking "can I help you." I've noticed a real improvement in recent months.

Never disappointed!
Although many people were shopping in the Garden Section, I was able to maneuver my cart very comfortably through the area to look at the huge assortment of flowers and plants. I was also very pleasantly surprised to find the check-out line going fast. All in all, I must say that I really love this store. I have been coming here for years and I have NEVER been disappointed!

Bad assistant experience
The assistant would not help me after I explained to him the problem. He asked me to hire a contract to do the work and walked away.
