Take on any new home improvement project with the tools you need — even if you don't own them. Rent tools, use them, and return them when you're done. Finish your project without cluttering up shed or workshop storage with tools you rarely use.
Tool Rental
Using The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Ft Walton helps you handle more complex DIY projects. Break free of the limits of old tools and rent up-to-date tools made to suit your projects. Rent the tools to finish your project confidently and safely. If your local store doesn't have the tool you need in stock, it might be at another store within driving distance.
Tame the Lawn and Greenery Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and bushes with trimmers and rental lawn mowers, and get that driveway clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, replace your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies with ease. You'll enjoy steadier utility bills and a more consistent home temperature with new insulation.
Truck Rental
For transporting large tool rentals or anything else, we keep flatbed trucks as well as box trucks ready for rental — with availability varying by store. Choose the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for DIY jobs of all sizes, it's simple to make us your go-to source for moving and transport as well.
To get transportation and tools for your home improvement or moving project, check out The Home Depot Ft Walton Tool and Truck Rental Center. Having the appropriate tools for the job is important, so let us help. We're here to help you get that project finished.
How do I rent tools and trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you'd like confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You can also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is at your store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent tools?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and long-term projects can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
