When you're beginning to make the leap into a big DIY job, you might not have all the tools you need in the shed or workshop. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Glenview Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental options enlarge your toolbox and toolbelt with the precise tools you need to complete the job. It's impractical to get a specialty tool when you're not using it frequently. When you're thinking about getting a new tool, do a trial run first before you select which one to get. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.
Tame the Lawn and Trees Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the lawn and bushes with rental lawn mowers and string trimmers, and get that sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Gorgeous spring days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Make surfaces look new again with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need scaffolding rentals for painting houses or sheds, or rental ladders for painting fences, or a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, we have what you need.
Rental Trucks
Choose one of our trucks when you're in need of a cargo van or truck. It's great for hauling an item that's too big for the car. With an excellent price and availability, our vehicles are ready to roll when you need them. We've also got Penske moving trucks and box trucks to help ease the stress of a big move. Availability varies by store, so check out our FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to ensure you choose the right rental truck for you.

How do I rent a tool or moving truck?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you want confirmation before you drive there, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You might also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your local store. For more info on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.
Can I rent a tool for an hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and major projects are no problem. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off mud and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before selecting a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck with gas before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
