Recycling at The Home Depot

Did you know?

eco_image

Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.

eco_image

This store recycles all shrink wrap, contributing to the 780 million pounds that The Home Depot has sold to Trex in the past. This is used in composite decking materials, bringing us one step closer to a circular economy.

We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.

Frequently Asked Questions About Your Store

What sizes of moving boxes do you have?

Pick up an assortment of moving boxes to make your move easier. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion your items with moving blankets and bubble cushion to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Look into our rental moving trucks, too, and take care of your DIY move needs in one place.

Do I need a generator?

We've got the variety you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are quieter and cleaner than traditional portable generators. They'll adjust to the required load, making more noise when they create more power. When browsing generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows.

How can I prepare my home for spring temperature changes?

Make sure your home is ready for spring temperature swings by replacing any faulty or broken parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in any crevices, you could have problems. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak into your home. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Check cinder blocks and bricks for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, change vinyl siding and chimney caps if they're damaged.

Why should I get a doorbell camera?

Enjoy safety, peace of mind, and privacy with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through an adjacent window or peephole when you can watch visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off potential porch pirates. Most cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you flexible and easy accessibility. Choose to save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
