When you're preparing to make the leap into a big DIY project, you might not have everything you need in a workshop or shed. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Key West Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool and equipment rental choices expand your toolbelt and toolbox with the exact tools you require to complete your DIY project. It's not necessary to buy a specialized tool when you're only using it once in a while. When you're thinking about buying a new tool, try it out first before you decide which to buy. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.
Tame the Greenery and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the sidewalks with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Beautiful spring days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Renew surfaces with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, rental ladders for painting fences, or scaffolding rentals for painting a house, we have what you need.
Cargo Van and Truck Rentals
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep trucks of all kinds rental ready. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickup trucks to flatbed trucks to cargo vans. We'll have the correct size for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for storage, packing, and DIY projects, it's easy to make us your source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to relocate to a new home, let us help with that. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet, but as always, availability varies from one store to the next. Use our trucks to haul all your belongings — from a dorm to a city apartment to a 4-bedroom house, and anything in between. Our box trucks have different rental requirements and sizes than Penske moving trucks, so check our FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to ensure you choose the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with the right pro power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're calling out popular truck, large equipment, and tool rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what trucks or tools you can rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You can also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is available at your local store. For more on renting tools or large equipment, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent tools or large equipment?
Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and bigger jobs can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Remember to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before you decide on a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck or large equipment?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to pick up my large equipment rental from the store?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off at your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?
Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
