Tools & Truck Rentals at The Home Depot Near You

The Home Depot Rental Center at Marathon

Tool Rental
Start your DIY project with confidence and the best tools. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Marathon expand your toolbox with the items you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and return them when the job is done. If it makes sense to have those rental tools around all the time, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.

Tame the Lawn and Trees Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the sidewalks with a pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, add another layer to your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to get it installed correctly. Decide between a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated properly. It'll keep the house cooler this spring and summer, then continue working year-round. You'll enjoy warmer temperatures in the winter, too, which can lessen heater usage.

Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
For your transport needs, we keep trucks of all kinds on hand. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from cargo vans to flatbed trucks to pickup trucks. Choose the correct size for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's simple to make us your source for truck rental as well.

Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to relocate to a new home, we can help with that as well. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet, but as always, availability varies from one store to the next. Penske moving trucks have different sizes and rental requirements than our box trucks, so check our FAQ or speak to an associate to make sure you find the right rental truck for you.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete expansive projects with the right pro equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the skid steers for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular tool, large equipment, and truck rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent trucks, tools, or large equipment?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is available at your local store. For more info on renting large equipment or tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent a tool or large equipment by the hour?

Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before you choose a vehicle.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I get my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off at your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?

Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
