Take on any new home improvement project with the right tools for the job — even if you don't have them on hand. Rent tools, use them, and bring them back when you're done. Finish your project without cluttering up garage or shed storage with tools you rarely use.
Tool Rental
The Home Depot Kingsbridge Tool Rental Center helps you handle more complicated DIY projects. Break free of the limits of old tools and rent up-to-date tools made to suit your projects. Complete your project confidently and safely by renting quality tools. If your local store doesn't have the tool you need in stock, it might be available at another one within driving distance.
Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw rental, and the driveway and sidewalks with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, add another layer to your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to install it correctly. Decide between a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated well. It'll keep the house cooler this spring and summer, then continue working year-round. You'll enjoy warmer temps in the winter, too, which can tamp down electricity usage.
Truck Rental
For your transport needs, we keep flatbed trucks and box trucks ready to roll — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths at certain stores. Choose the correct size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. As your source for storage, packing, and DIY, it's simple to make us your source for transport and moving as well.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning specific tool, large equipment, and truck rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent tools, trucks, or large equipment?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You may also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is at your favorite store. For more information on renting tools or large equipment, read the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent tools or large equipment?
You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the provided documentation before selecting a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to go get my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for a reasonable cost — out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?
Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
