The Home Depot Rental Center at Lakeline

When you're preparing to make the leap into a major home improvement project, you might not have the specialty tools you need in a shed or workshop. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Lakeline Tool Rental Center.

Tool Rental
Our tool and equipment rental options enlarge your toolbox and toolbelt with the precise tools you need to complete your DIY project. It's not practical to get a specialized tool when you're rarely reaching for it. When you're searching for a new tool, give it a spin before you decide which one to get. Whatever your situation, we have just what you're looking for.

Rent Post Hole Diggers, Shop Vacuums, and Floor Sanders
Tackle serious projects with reliable power tool rentals. Use a rental tiller to get your garden bed ready for planting or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter rental. Construct a new fence around your property more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools that suit your project.

Make Painting Easier with Ladder and Paint Sprayer Rentals
Make the most of warmer weather to paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get optimal coverage fast and renew surfaces. Scaffolding rentals help you reach high places when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry step ladders and extension ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when inspiration strikes.

Truck Rental
Choose one of our trucks when you're in need of a cargo van or truck. It's great for hauling a tool rental or large purchase. With excellent availability and a price to match, our vehicles are ready for rental. We've also got Penske moving trucks and box trucks to help ease the stress of a big move. Availability varies by store, so check out the FAQ or speak to an associate to ensure you find the right rental truck for you.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete massive projects with the right pro power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job yourself. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular tool, truck, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular truck in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent tools, trucks, or large equipment?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You might also check out our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your store. For more information on renting large equipment or tools, read the Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.

How long can I rent tools or large equipment?

You can rent large equipment or tools for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and bigger jobs can also be accommodated. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When can I bring the tools back?

You're welcome to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a week?

Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you must return it to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the provided documentation before choosing a truck.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I receive my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. Speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?

Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra time you require.
